The Y&R spoilers for Thursday, August 25, 2022, pivot to some non-Newmans, as Kyle Abbott protects Jack Abbott, Phyllis Newman proves her worth to daughter Summer Newman Abbott, and Chelsea Lawson makes a decision about what her next move should be.

Now that he’s married and a dad, Kyle (Michael Mealor) is convinced that he is all grown up and an all-knowing man of the world. He could barely find the words to tell Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) that his father was dead, but that doesn’t stop Kyle from thinking he knows what’s best for his own father.

Jack (Peter Bergman) has been growing closer to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), and Kyle has some thoughts on that. Which he expects Jack to not only listen to…but obey.

While Kyle is trying to figure out Jack’s feelings for Diane, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is doing her best to prove that she is a wonderful employee of Summer (Allison Lanier) and Kyle’s new company.

She’s here to help her beloved daughter, not to set up her daughter’s mother-in-law for a crime that will turn her entire family against her. That’s the only reason Phyllis closed a major deal — and flaunted it to all and sundry. Can Diane do that?

Y&R Spoilers: On Your Own

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) told Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) that he was dropping the podcast, but she was free to continue it on her own. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) agreed that it was a good idea.

Which means that Chelsea is giving it some serious thought. But is it really what she wants? Chelsea is happiest when she has a man adoring her, and now that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) isn’t around to try and trick into doing that, she needs that more than a podcast.
