The Y&R spoilers for Friday, April 1, 2022, tease an April Fool’s Day to remember, as Jack Abbott ponders how he could have been fooled by that whole the mother of your son is definitely dead thing. However, Phyllis Summers and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin aren’t fooled by Michael Baldwin’s claims that he is totally safe from the wrath of Ashland Locke — after all, he has Victor Newman to protect him! (You know, the way Victor protected Michael from being thrown in jail on trumped-up charges in Peru and didn’t lift a finger to find, much less rescue him.)
As Jack (Peter Bergman) told Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang), he thought Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was dead. Not just dead, murdered. By Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). And Nikki has killed before. She’s usually pretty good at it.
The Genoa City Police Department investigated her death. We presume that included an autopsy. Diane sure looks intact, doesn’t she…? And not at all decomposed. So what’s going on? That’s what Jack is trying to figure out. April fools!
Lauren (Tracey Bregman) agreed that Ashland (Robert Newman) deserves to be punished. She just didn’t understand why Michael (Christian Le Blanc) felt he had to be the one to do it. Michael paid some lip service to justice, blah, blah, blah. Lauren wasn’t buying it. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) isn’t buying it either. But she is being a friend to Lauren. For a couple of minutes, anyway.
Then Phyllis deftly pivots the conversation to her. And Jack. Because, surely, nothing is more interesting than talking about her and Jack. Lauren and Michael will be fine. They’re boring married people. It’s Phyllis whose life is unending drama. And Lauren is going to sit there and listen to it. April fools!
