On The Young and the Restless, spoilers for the week of July 22 – July 26 focus on characters seeking advice, explanations, and answers. Plus, there may not be blood. But there will be arguments. Plenty of them. And some romance, too.
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott — here’s how you can meet the actress) is in for a rollercoaster of a week. First, she better be ready for things to get rough. She and Jack (Peter Bergman) argue about Diane (Susan Walters). This isn’t a shocking development considering Nikki’s protective of Jack, and she hates Diane with the fire of a thousand suns.
Second, Victor (Eric Braeden) announces a new role for Nikki within his empire. In the video sneak peek for next week’s episodes, this new role seems way bigger than Newman Media. How will Nikki react to Victor’s latest proclamation? Also, what company is this? He’s not talking about Glissade, is he?
Saying that Devon’s professional life is turbulent is more than an understatement. While he’s experiencing a breakup at Chancellor-Winters, his personal life is smooth as silk. In fact, Devon (Bryton James) is about to take his relationship with Abby (Melissa Ordway) to the next level when he catches her off guard. Apparently he suddenly asks her a very important question. The “marry me” question. How will Abby respond? (We have eight questions for Y&R)
However, Devon’s business is never far from his mind. Look for him to seek Victor’s counsel. Does he want to talk to Victor about taking his daughter’s hand in marriage? Or does he want Victor’s advice on the hot mess that is Chancellor-Winters?
Drama with Exes: Nick (Joshua Morrow — who doesn’t feel like he’s acting on Y&R) worries about Sharon’s (Sharon Case) state of mind. She went ballistic on Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) recently. And as enjoyable as that is, she didn’t deserve it. What is going on with her? Meanwhile, Summer (Allison Lanier) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) are like oil and water right now. They only seem to argue and condescend when discussing Harrison (Redding Munsell). Summer doesn’t back down. In fact, next week, she plays hardball with Kyle.
Business Briefs: Victor vows to protect Katherine’s (the late Jeanne Cooper) legacy. What does that mean? Is he going after Chancellor? Excuse us. Abbott-Chancellor. Is that the company he feels Nikki can lead? If that’s the case, can someone tell Billy (Jason Thompson) and Lily (Christel Khalil)? Because Lily is feeling the need to stand her ground with Billy next week. Why does she have to — what’s Billy up to? Finally, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), unsurprisingly, second guesses returning to Newman.
Let’s end things on a positive, non-corporate, non-argumentative note. In Paris (Beth Maitland), Traci takes a big step with Alan (Christopher Cousins). Good for her!
