The Young and the Restless spoilers show the soap running a bit low on villains these days. Victor and Jack are getting a bit long in the tooth to keep wreaking havoc like the young men they used to be. Adam wants to be a bad ass, but he seems to mostly fail at… everything he tries.
Nick mostly just yells a lot. Kyle is a child. Sure, Phyllis can scheme and plot with the rest of them. But, these days, she seems to be just trading practical jokes with Abby about some hotel. So who will step in the Big Bad’s role? How about Big, Bad… Billy (Jason Thompson)?
For a few months there, every time Billy popped a stick of gum into his mouth, he became an Avenger, out to get Adam (Mark Grossman) for having run down and killed Billy’s daughter, Delia, years earlier. As Bad Billy, he broke into Adam’s home, stole his belongings, lured him out onto a dark road, and tried to run him down with his car.
But then Billy took an episode-long nap, during which he had some ghostly chats with his loved ones and, ipso-presto, now he’s all better! Thompson won a Daytime Emmy. But does that mean we need to put Big Bad Billy to bed?
After his rejuvenating nap, Billy’s idea of being bad was whining to Victoria (Amelia Heinle) that she didn’t accept him for exactly who he was, and then whining to Jack (Peter Bergman) that he should appreciate everything about Billy, or else what kind of a brother was he?
Nobody loves him, Billy announced, and stomped off to… dare we hope, chew more gum? Could Dark Billy come back and play for good? And become the villain Genoa City needs? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
