The Young and the Restless spoilers for Tuesday, April 23 promise a tragic day in Genoa City nobody ever saw coming.
Devon learns Neil has died, and the news spreads through the rest of town like wildfire. Plus, Victor makes an announcement. Way to only think about yourself, Vic!
Mask Of Tragedy
Neil (Kristoff St. John) has been a mainstay on the Genoa City canvas since 1991. He — or rather St. John — went from a Younger Leading Man Emmy winner to a Supporting Actor MVP to the patriarch of his own soap family.
Neil dated Victoria (then-Heather Tom) — and her onetime stepmom, Ashley (Eileen Davidson). He was married to Hilary (Mishael Morgan) — before losing her to Devon (Bryton James).
But the true love of his life was Lily’s (Christel Khalil) mother, Dru (Victoria Rowell), whose death he still mourns.
Neil helped Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Jack (Peter Bergman) with their addictions, and he worked at both Newman and Jabot.
So when Devon learns of Neil’s death, it’s shattering to Neil’s adoptive son on multiple levels. And it’s crushing to YR viewers.
Get your tissues ready. Tomorrow is going to be a tragic day. And it’s only the beginning. Expect quite a week remembering this beloved character and actor.

Listen Up
But don’t worry, nothing stops Victor (Eric Braeden) from needing to be the center of attention. He’s been gone for weeks. He lied to Nikki and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) about where he’s been.
But now he’s back, and he has an announcement to make! Will it be about his trip? Will it be about his lies?
Will it be about the shrink he’s paying off in Las Vegas, or will it be none of the above? Will it, instead, be about everything his family has been doing wrong while Victor was gone, and about how don’t worry, Victor is finally here to fix things?
Tune in on Tuesday to find out! This is going to be an hour that will be remembered by fans and characters forever.
