The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday, July 8, 2020 go back almost exactly 20 years, to August 3, 2000, when Neil demanded Dru tell him the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, Brittany made a play for Billy, and Phyllis did the same with Michael.
Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) were Genoa City’s golden couple. (Well, after they got over the initial hate at first sight, and after she stopped using him to try and make her sister’s boyfriend jealous, but that’s just Soap Stuff 101!) We saw their honeymoon in the tropics. We saw them with their daughter Lily (Christel Khalil) and we watched them adopt Devon (Bryton James).
This was a blessed family! Except for the teeny, tiny, minor detail that Dru accidentally slept with her brother-in-law, Malcolm (Shemar Moore) – hey, it happens; she’d taken a lot of cold medicine, and everyone knows you’re not supposed to operate heavy machinery after! So is Malcolm or Neil Lily’s father? And will Dru ‘fess up about the possibility?
Brittany (Lauren Woodland) was once the bad girl of the teen scene. (This was before she went to law school -off-screen; the actress actually is a lawyer now – and periodically started popping up when folks needed legal representation.)
And when the bad girl wanted only sometimes bad boy Billy (then-David Tom, real-life brother of Heather Tom) – then the bad girl went after Billy. With everything she had.
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) – and Michael’s wife, Lauren (Tracey Bregman), too – are all best friends now. However, 20 years ago, it was a whole different story and we get to see it…The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
