The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, December 9, 2019, tease Summer taking an emotional stand, Abby turning up the heat, Phyllis brooding, and Elena nearing a meltdown.
A trip to Jabot ends in a reality check for Mariah (Camryn Grimes). She runs into Summer (Hunter King) and immediately starts in with some clever quips and cutting jabs. Summer usually gives as good as she gets but not this time. This time, she lets Mariah have it.
Summer is heartbroken over her breakup and her feelings are all over the place. She puts Mariah and her smart mouth in their place and walks away with her head held high.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) a jewel thief? Yes, but for good reason (or so she says). It was a mission to set up Red to take the fall for being a terrible head of security and it looks like it worked. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is out and she can bring on someone much more suited to her needs to take over — Chance.
Will he really quit his Pentagon job to work at a hotel? Under normal circumstances absolutely not, but Abby definitely has ways to convince him. She all but offers herself up on a silver platter if he bends to her will.
Grab your snacks for more rounds of Elena (Brytni Sarpy) drama. She catches Devon (Bryton James) having it out with Amanda (Mishael Morgan) and it infuriates her for many reasons.
First, she’s on Team Amanda now and sees the lawyer isn’t all that bad, and second, she’s beginning to think Devon is a little too obsessed with the woman who looks like his ex.

Well, Elena, that’s easier said than done. The poor guy was ripped off for billions and it’s not something he can just get over.
