The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday, January 2, 2020, reveal quite the New Year’s Eve celebration in Genoa City.
Abby throws a bash (with a very interesting mixture of guests), while Phyllis decides to take a Chance. You won’t want to miss a moment of this high stakes episode.
Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) know it ain’t new years until the Newmans say it’s New Years! The patriarch and matriarch of Wisconsin society throw a private party to celebrate 2020 and bid goodbye to all their troubles of 2019. It’s nothing but clear sailing ahead now, right? What else could possibly happen to them?
Abby (Melissa Ordway) inaugurates Society as the place to see and be seen when she throws a New Year’s Eve party. Lola (Sasha Calle) is in the kitchen — which means Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Theo (Tyler Johnson) are all destined to be on the premises.
That also means there will be tension, words exchanged, and even talk about what happened in New York that they’re not supposed to talk about.
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) will be waiting — and hoping — for Billy (Jason Thompson) to be done with his “business” before the strike of midnight. Good luck, Victoria!
And Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will be angling to kiss Nick (Joshua Morrow) when the clock strikes 12, while Adam (Mark Grossman) lurks on the periphery, fully intent on proving to Chelsea that she’s smooching the wrong man.
What was Abby thinking when she invited both her battling brothers? More business? Family bonding? We’re not sure.

Summer (Hunter King) offered to bring Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to the party as her plus-one, but Phyllis declared herself to be in an “Abby-free zone.”
Phyllis, however, doesn’t feel the same way about Abby’s plus-one, Chance (Danny Boaz). Phyllis is determined to find out what went down between Chance and Adam in Las Vegas, and she won’t stop bullying — or flirting — until she gets what she wants.
Just who will Chance be kissing as 2020 comes barreling in? And will he be prompted to kiss and tell? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
