The Young and the Restless spoilers for June 29 – July 3, 2020 reveal a special week dedicated to the highs and lows experienced by Christine and Paul, one of this soap’s most star-crossed pairs.
Last week it was all about gold – Emmy gold that is – and giving viewers the chance to see a sampling of the outstanding acting on offer from a variety of award-winning actors.
Now YR is gearing up to spotlight the love story of Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), the gumshoe and the legal eagle. From their engagement to their wedding in 1996 and beyond, fans will get to relive it all.
Paul’s proposal of marriage – and Christine’s acceptance – (a moment which originally took place on September 21, 1994) is the highlight of the episode airing Monday, June 29.
The episode repeated on Tuesday, June 30, originally aired back in the winter of 1994 and it features Paul’s mother, Mary (Carolyn Conwell), paying an unannounced visit to Christine’s bridal shower. It’s not that Mrs. Williams disapproves of Christine in general, she’s just hated everyone that Paul has ever gotten close to in particular so why stop now?
Wednesday’s episode features the would-be bride and groom facing their own mortality after they are injured in a hit-and-run accident on what is supposed to be their wedding day!
And the culprit responsible for those severe injuries? Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Turns out ol’ Red decided that if she couldn’t keep Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) all to herself, she was going to make damn sure that he didn’t have the option of returning to Christine.
On Thursday, July 2, fans will finally get to see the long-awaited-for nuptials that united Christine and Paul in holy matrimony. The ceremony itself was breathtaking but the honeymoon that the two had in Nevis left a lot to be desired.
The week wraps up with the continuation of an episode previously glimpsed during Villains Week. Evil Isabella Brana (Eva Longoria) has incapacitated Christine and forced her underneath the bathwater – it’s all part of a scheme to fake her rival’s suicide and clear a path to Paul’s heart.
Luckily Paul arrives just in the nick of time to subdue his evil (then) wife and rescue the woman that he truly loves. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
