The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday, November 18, 2020, reveal an unexpected night for Devon and Amanda.

While they made plans and expected to spend time together (something Phyllis is shocked to learn), things don’t go quite as planned. Devon (Bryton James) originally wanted to show off his clout in the world of hospitality and got a reservation at one of the hottest spots in town that he doesn’t actually own.

The pair meets at Devon’s place for drinks and when it comes time to leave, they don’t even bother. French food? Meh. Let’s do takeout. Pizza? Chinese? Well, Amanda (Mishael Morgan) picks Chinese and it seems that’s exactly what Devon wants too. How compatible are these two?

With fried rice, pepper steak, and egg rolls ordered, the two sat down for some homemade margaritas. Amazingly, they proceed to NOT talk about Hilary. Instead, Amanda asks to hear all about Devon and how he became the man he is today. Devon says that’s first date talk and Amanda just smiles and tells him so be it.

So, we get to hear Devon’s story. His history with his biological mother, how he met Lily (Christel Khalil) and eventually became part of her family thanks to Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Dru (Victoria Rowell) taking him in. Amanda learns about Tucker and how he inherited his billions from his grandmother. Although that is the point where Amanda entered this tale trying to legally take it all away…

All in all, it looks like a successful night in that was supposed to be a night out. There is no whining, no anger, no brooding, and even no talk of Elena (Brytni Sarpy) and what she did with Nate (Sean Dominic). Devon and Amanda actually smile over their drinks and takeout and that’s the kind of date we like to see. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
