Soap Star News: Courtney Hope Has a Special Birthday Wish For Chad Duell

Courtney Hope became an official soap hopper this year once it was shared on social media that the actress is joining the cast of The Young and the Restless. As her followers know, the ex-star of The Bold and the Beautiful is dating General Hospital star Chad Duell (Michael). Now, she’s got a special message for her special guy on his special day!

“Happy birthday to my rock, my kite, my best friend, and my perfect match,” Hope posted on Instagram on the anniversary of Duell’s birth. “Thanks for keeping me grounded, always keeping me focused on positive possibilities, being dedicated to creating the perfect life for us both and growing, communicating and learning with me as we tackle life’s ups and downs. “Dope” is, of course, the couple’s “smush” name. Fans take parts of characters’ names and combine them into one word and it becomes an alternate handle for the pair.

Hope joined BB in 2017 as Sally Spectra, the namesake of the original Sally, played by the late, great Darlene Conley. During her three years on BB, Hope’s Sally had romances with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) — when the role was played by Pierson Fode — and Wyatt (Darin Brooks). She also shared a smooch with Liam (Scott Clifton), but that dynamic didn’t develop. Although, Sally slipped once and called Wyatt “Liam,” which caused discourse.

Wyatt felt Sally had gone way too far in trying to re-win his heart by lying about dying and kidnapping Flo (Katrina Bowden), prompting Sally to drop out of sight.
