Who’s coming and who’s going from the casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of Our Lives (Days), General Hospital (GH) and The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Soap Opera Casting
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
General Hospital
Big exits over at General Hospital courtesy of the explosion at The Floating Rib. First and foremost, Emme Rylan has been written off as Lulu Spencer Falconieri, when her character suffered a traumatic brain injury from the blast. Rylan took over the role of Lulu in 2013 and explained on Instagram that she “did not choose” to exit the soap.
Other GH casualties include Mark Lawson, who was killed off as Lulu’s beau, Dustin Phillips. Ashton Arbab also met his demise as Dev Corbin. Both actors joined the soap in 2019.
Meanwhile, Real Andrews is taking a temporary leave as Marcus Taggert. Replacing him will be Asante Jones, who begins airing in mid-December. Jones’ credits include guest spots on Shameless, Hawaii Five-0, and Scandal.
Days of Our Lives
Over at Days of Our Lives, Nadia Bjorlin returns as Chloe Lane on Thursday, December 3. Bjorlin, who originated the role in 1999, last aired in August of 2020.
Five other familiar faces are heading back to Days this winter: Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley, last seen as Tony and Anna DiMera in April; Chandler Massey, who left town as Will Horton in September; Victoria Konefal, who made her last appearance as Ciara Brady in October; and James Lastovic, whose Joey Johnson was sent to prison in 2017.
On the exit front, Casey Moss wrapped up his visit as JJ Deveraux. The character headed back to South Africa.
The Young and the Restless
At The Young and the Restless it looks like a member of the Rosales family is headed back to Genoa City. Jason Canela, who played Arturo Rosales from 2018 to 2019, posted an Instagram photo of himself outside the show’s CBS studio complex. Production-wise, it lines up perfectly with the taping of his TV brother Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) upcoming wedding to Sharon (Sharon Case).
