There hasn’t been a wedding on The Young and the Restless (YR) for while now. Are they due? And, if so, who should it be?
Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) just moved in together, so it would seem like marriage is the next step. But is that what Nick and Chelsea want? Is it what the fans want? Here’s what over 4,000 viewers think!
Too Much, Too Fast
What’s the hurry, wonder 72% of you? They haven’t even finished unpacking yet. And Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is all pouty over it. Plus, Chelsea doesn’t look thrilled to have her space invaded by a ready-made family.
A wedding would only make all those problems worse, not better. Plus, there’s the teeny, tiny issue of Chelsea knowing that Christian isn’t Nick’s child, but Adam’s. She also knows that Victor (Eric Braeden) knows.
And is Adam even really dead? What if Chelsea’s beloved husband returns from the grave, only to learn that his wife is married to his brother. And they’re raising his child. Adam has never be a live and let live kind of guy.
If You Like It You Should Put a Ring On It
But that’s exactly why they should tie the knot, counters 28% of the audience! You know Adam has got to find his way back to Genoa City sooner or later, and Nick and Chelsea being married would only up the stakes.
High-stakes makes for high-drama. And high-drama makes for good soap! Just imagine the fireworks of a Nick/Chelsea/Adam triangle, with Christian making everything worse. Which means making everything better.
You’re not in this for the romance. Though a splashy wedding is never unwelcome on the soaps, you’re in this for what happens after the I do’s. And none of that Happily Ever After nonsense, either. Bring on the angst!
