Should Devon Step Up on Young and the Restless Since Chance Is Away?

Devon Hamilton and Abby Chancellor on The Young and the Restless
 Comments

The Young and the Restless’ Chance has been on a mission that is so top-secret, he can’t even come home and meet his son Dominic. Fortunately, the newborn has plenty of loved ones around him. Should one, in particular, Devon, step up as Chance isn’t around right now?

The Young and the Restless Father Of The Year

Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) is doting on her new son. Should Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) drop by more often and take an active role in Dominic’s development? After all, he’s the infant’s biological dad. Soap Hub posed this question to Y&R fans. Read on for the results.

Dangerous Territory

Nearly 60% of you think that Devon needs to stay away so that he doesn’t get his heart broken. He may have rushed into donating his specimen when he learned Abby and Chance wanted to start a family, but Devon probably hasn’t ever really gotten over the death of his wife Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and their unborn child. If Devon steps up and helps Abby with parenting stuff, he’ll probably get too attached to his biological child and when Chance comes home, Devon will get hurt.

Young and Restless Parenting Style

Nearly 22% of you think that Devon should go ahead and help Abby. It doesn’t mean that Devon will be out of the picture once Chance comes home. Devon will always be a part of his child’s life. He and Abby and Chance are friends. Devon won’t be sorry if he helps Abby. He’ll only grow closer to his biological child.

Good Intentions On Y&R

If Devon helps Abby out with taking care of the son they brought into the world — with Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) help, of course — he’s going to fall in love with his son even more than he already has. Mariah Copeland was looking for a purpose in life when she agreed to carry the baby. Devon is Abby’s friend. He wanted to help her too.

But if Chance doesn’t come back soon, then Devon may rethink how he feels about giving up his child. He’s got the resources to sue for custody. If that happens, and about 18% of you think he will sue, then, battle lines will be drawn and dynamics will be forever changed!
