That shadowy figure looking over Abby on The Young and the Restless has a familiar face. Sean Carrigan is bringing Abby’s ex-husband Stitch back to Genoa City.
A rep for Y&R confirms to Soap Hub that Carrigan will be seen again as Stitch on Friday, June 25.
The character, who first debuted in 2013, left town back in 2017 following Abby miscarrying the couple’s baby. Stitch and Abby’s marriage was strained beyond repair after it was revealed that Stitch’s troubled son Max (Jared Breeze) had orchestrated Abby’s tumble down the stairs, causing her to lose her baby.
Stitch may be surprised to learn that Abby’s moved on with her life since he moved to Iowa where he practices medicine and where Max continues to receive post-brain surgery care. (Hopefully, the calculating young man has been cured of wanting to do diabolical things in order to keep from feeling displaced!)
No word on if Max will return to the show, however, if he were to join his father back in Genoa City, he could be added to the show’s developing young set with Faith (Reylynn Caster) and Moses (Jacob Aaron Gaines).
Stitch is returning to Abby’s life when she’s feeling rather vulnerable. Her husband Chance is away on a secret mission and communication between him and his bride has been sporadic at best. Abby and Chance are expecting their first baby with the aid of pals Mariah (Camryn Grimes), who is carrying the baby, and Devon (Bryton James), who is the unborn child’s biological pop.
Since leaving Y&R in 2017, Carrigan has worked steadily, appearing on such series as Dave, Lucifer, Living With the Boyfriend, Dead of Night, and, most recently, Everybody is Doing Great. The actor played the scene-stealing Coach Rafferty in the series American Vandal, which spoofed serial crime dramas. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
