The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, September 30, 2022, brings a threat from Diane Jenkins’s mystery man. It seems he wants to crash the vow renewal to reveal himself to the Abbotts.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
The Abbott mansion was abuzz with preparation for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) vow renewal. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) blew in with a dress for Summer straight from Forrester Creations, and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) came down and took it. She invited Nikki to help Summer get dressed, but she had to get ready herself. However, they caught a moment to talk about what Nikki found out about Diane (Susan Walters) in Los Angeles.
Phyllis and Summer had a moment together. They remarked on how different this wedding was than the one in Milan. For the both of them, the wedding in Genoa City is the one that counts, and Summer hoped that there weren’t any distractions with her mom or Diane at the celebration. Phyllis promised to co-exist with Diane peacefully. Nothing could possibly ruin the day.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) helped Kyle put on his cufflinks, and they even mentioned John Abbott (Jerry Douglas). Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) ran in, and everybody was happy about the upcoming vow renewal, which would be at the Abbott mansion, where so many generations of the family had lived.
Diane was getting ready in her Genoa City Athletic Club suite. Somebody knocked on her door, and it was her surprise visitor (Trevor St. John). She told him how terrible his timing was, and she reiterated that if the Abbotts found out about their connection, there would be huge problems. He pointed out that he made her return to Genoa City possible. Without him, Diane wouldn’t even have a chance at redemption. He wanted to reveal himself to the Abbotts, and Diane begged him not to. However, the mystery man said he wouldn’t reveal their connection or blow her cover.
Diane rang the doorbell at the Abbotts’, and Kyle answered the door, letting her in. Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) let Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) in, and he brought a box from Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), which he’d picked up in the driveway. Phyllis and Nick enjoyed a moment together, and they talked about how, despite all their mistakes, they got it right with Summer.
Phyllis looked on as Diane followed Jack outside, where the tables were all set up for the celebration. They talked about how well Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) fit in with the Abbotts. Then, Diane apologized again for kissing Jack the other night, but she also pointed out that she’d felt a connection between them.
Right as they were headed inside, Phyllis walked out, and she let Jack know that Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) wouldn’t be there because her son was sick. After Jack left, Phyllis reiterated to Diane that their kids come first, and she agreed.
Traci, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson), Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) ensured everything was ready to go. However, the three younger people had one issue — who would officiate? They all wanted to, but Kyle and Summer told them to work it out among themselves.
Nick and Summer spent a few moments together, and he told her that she didn’t have to do it, which caused them some jokes. Summer made sure her dad wasn’t upset about not walking her down the aisle, and he told her he was fine with it. They talked about how strong she is, and he expressed his pride in her. Then, he gave her a delicate bracelet with an “S” on it, which stood for Supergirl and not Summer.
Downstairs, Jack and Traci welcomed Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Diane walked up, and Billy said hello to her. Then, he went to check on Kyle while Diane went to check on Harrison. Nikki and Victoria walked in, and then Phyllis stole Nikki away to complain about Diane. Nikki promised that a reckoning was coming.
Then, Noah, Mariah, and Tessa started the festivities, explaining that they were all officiating. Kyle took his place at the front and told them he was happy to have all three officiate. Then, Summer walked out, and Harrison went to walk her down the aisle.
Young and the Restless Recap: Ruthless
Earlier, at the ranch house, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Nick, and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) talked about Nate Hastings’s (Sean Dominic) insider information. Nick didn’t like it, but of course, Victor and Victoria were more willing to take chances. Victoria had confidence that Nate would be able to convince his cousins that the situation would be good if Newman Enterprises takes over. Not surprisingly, Nick was against it. After some back and forth, Nick left to go see Summer and Kyle renew their vows.
Victor told Victoria to go to the vow renewal, and she wondered if her dad was going to go, but he declined to spend the afternoon at the Abbotts. Instead, Victor planned to go to Chicago to get funding for their upcoming venture. Nikki seemed shocked that Victor declined to go to his granddaughter’s ceremony.
After Victoria left, Victor asked Nikki to tell him all about what she learned from Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). Nikki declared seeing her ex-husband was unpleasant and revealed that she got new information about Diane. The woman had a luxurious lifestyle riding around in a Bentley. Nikki showed Victor a photo that included a license plate number, and the car was owned by Private Images Limited out of London — an entertainment and art-related business. Nikki noted that everything she learned showed that Diane was clearly hiding something. Elsewhere, Diane said that their connection as parents and grandparents meant everything to her, and Jack reassured her.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Ghost Town
Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) asked Nate what there was to do in Genoa City since it seemed like a ghost town after work. Nate told her about Noah’s Glam club, and she suggested that they go some time. Nate said going clubbing together wasn’t such a great idea, given their business connection. She said it was a double standard because he’d have no problems going golfing together. She said clubbing was a progressive way of doing business.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) saw Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) at Crimson Lights. He tried to talk about Nate’s return to Chancellor-Winters, but Devon noticed that something wasn’t right with Elena. He asked her what was wrong, and she admitted that Nate’s transition into the business world was complicated for her, and Nate was like a completely different person. Devon admitted he’d wondered if Nate made the right decision quitting being a doctor. Devon noticed Elena’s bags, and he wondered if she and Nater were fighting. However, instead of explaining, Elena said she had to go and left.
Devon went into Society, and he noticed Nate and Audra eating together. They explained that they’d run into each other accidentally.
Before he went to the Abbotts, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) prepared to leave Chancellor-Winters for the vow renewal. He made sure Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) didn’t want to come, and she said she didn’t. Billy mentioned that he felt worried about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), and she told him he couldn’t blame himself. Devon walked in as Billy left, and he told Lily his concerns about Nate and Audra spending time together and about Elena staying in a hotel. Lily said it wasn’t their concern, but he explained that Elena is Nate’s voice of wisdom. She told him to have more faith in Nate.
Audra and Nate walked into Chancellor-Winters. Lily had gone to discuss the IPO. Nate suggested something, and Devon didn’t like it, but Audra took Devon’s side. Then, she left to go find Lily, and Devon asked Nate how he’d been. Nate explained that he and Elena had some troubles but nothing to worry about.
