The Y&R spoilers recap for Thursday, September 29, 2022, brings Sally Spectra finally giving Adam Newman the whole truth about her and Nick Newman.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Sally (Courtney Hope) and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) worked late, and Sally bought her Chief Operating Officer a coffee at Crimson Lights. Chloe wanted to know all about how the meeting with Nick (Joshua Morrow) went, and Sally kept things pretty vague, telling Chloe that it went well and Nick loved everything they were doing.

Then, Sally asked Chloe if she was a friend, and Chloe said she was, so Sally admitted she had something to say about Nick that wasn’t business related. Sally said things with Nick had taken a personal turn — an intimate turn. Chloe said that these things happen, and everybody makes a mistake. However, Sally quashed that when she admitted it’d happened twice.
Chloe needed a moment to come to grips with things, and then she asked Sally what kind of friend she needed in that moment. Sally then overshared a bit, telling Chloe that things with Nick were mindblowing. Plus, she appreciated Nick’s honesty, charm, respect, and truth-telling. Sally declared that Nick makes her genuinely happy. Even so, Chloe didn’t think that Sally did herself any favors by hooking up with her boss, Nick, especially since she was not over his brother. Then, she warned her boss that if Adam (Mark Grossman) found out, he wouldn’t handle it gracefully.
Sally asked Chloe not to talk about Adam’s reaction, and she agreed. Then, of course, she wanted to know what Sally’s heart felt. Sally admitted that she couldn’t return to Adam, but Chloe said she meant Nick. Sally said she deserved a nice guy. Chloe wondered if Sally would be okay with Nick ending things with her, and Sally said she could talk about it and calmly call things off. Sally told Chloe she wasn’t going to get her heart broken, but Chloe wasn’t so sure.
At Newman Enterprises, Adam confronted his brother about sleeping with Sally. Nick told Adam that Sally could do whatever she wanted with whomever she wanted. Adam didn’t buy his brother’s change of subject, though, and he assumed Nick and Sally had slept together since Nick didn’t say otherwise. Adam insisted Nick give him the truth, but Nick told him to let it all go. He suggested his younger brother focus on his new job at Jabot and making a good life.
Of course, Nick was talking to Adam, and of course, Adam wasn’t about to let it go. Nick told Adam his interrogation was pathetic. He accused his brother of already having his mind made up, and he told Adam he should talk to Sally if he had questions. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) walked in and wondered if Adam was looking for her. He said no, and then he insinuated that Nick would see Sally again. Adam left, and Victoria asked Nick to elaborate on that comment, and he told his sister it wasn’t her business, but she disagreed.
Victoria wondered why Nick was such an advocate for Sally. Then, she let her brother know that Adam’s concerns over Nick and Sally would cause their younger brother to lash out, which would make things worse for everyone. Victoria wondered what Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) or even Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) would think about Nick’s involvement with Sally, but he pointed out that it was his life and his choice to make. Victoria asked him to consider what he was doing very carefully because his choices affected both the company and the family.
As for Adam, he ended up at Crimson Lights, where he saw Sally and Chloe talking. Chloe tried to bustle Sally out of there, but Adam insisted on talking. Chloe refused to leave, so Adam talked in front of her. Adam begged Sally to tell him the truth — he needed to hear it from her. Finally, Sally admitted that, yes, something happened with Nick, and she told him she owed him no explanation since they broke up. Sally stormed out, leaving Chloe there with Adam. She ultimately thanked Adam for breaking up with Sally and leaving her with room for good things in her life now.
Back at her hotel, Sally answered a knock on her door, and it was Nick. He walked in, and they began kissing.
Young and the Restless: A Break
At their penthouse, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) returned from getting some air. Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) had a bag packed, and Nate was stunned to see she planned to leave. She insinuated that her leaving wasn’t a solution to their problem, but instead, the solution was a breakup.

Nate said Elena couldn’t see his plan, but she said she saw exactly what he was doing. He’d just changed so much, and leaving medicine caused Nate to become blinded by greed and ambition. Elena declared all Nate valued was power and recognition even over his own family. Nate said it wasn’t true, though. He begged Elena for her love and support, and she said Nate made it impossible since he wasn’t even willing to listen. Then, Nate told Elena that separating was for the best.
Elena said she had everything she needed, and Nate said it wasn’t like their separation was for forever. She didn’t respond. Elena told Nate she loved him, and she walked out the door. Then, she got to her hotel room and started sobbing. As for Nate, he poured himself a drink alone in the penthouse.
However, Nate ended up at Society, where he ran into Victoria. He asked her to join him, so she did, briefly. Nate admitted he and Elena separated. Victoria wondered why Nate had shared his plan with his girlfriend. Then, Victoria told Nate that not everybody was like them, and that was okay. She pointed out how business leaders created jobs and made life possible — it’s not shameful. She advised Nate not to waste time justifying his decisions.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Honeymoon Plans
It’s Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) vow renewal eve. They both agreed that name was a mouthful. He had a surprise for Summer, and he made her cover her eyes. Up in the bedroom, Kyle kissed Summer, and then he popped a straw hat atop her head. She suggested she’d start a new trend — straw hats in autumn.
Big surprise. Instead of just a straw hat, Kyle told Summer they were headed to Costa Rica for their honeymoon. Summer was over the moon. He described the entire trip to paradise to Summer, and she couldn’t wait to head out on a honeymoon with her husband alone. Then, they enjoyed an adults-only honeymoon preview that started with a kiss.
They basked in their bliss for a few moments, and then Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) yelled out for his parents. Kyle thought Harrison had a bad dream, which wasn’t what happened. But Summer got it right — Harrison had such a great dream he couldn’t sleep. Harrison admitted he was excited for his mom and dad’s vow renewal the next day.
