The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, October 3, 2022, brings Tucker McCall crashing Summer Newman Abbott and Kyle Abbott’s vow renewal in shocking fashion.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) began the ceremony. Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Allison Lanier) said how much more they love each other these days than they did even a year ago. Tessa read a lovely verse she wrote since she couldn’t sing.

The couple had written their own vows for the ceremony. They expressed their love for one another and talked about how much stronger they are than even last year. They talked about Milan, and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), and how lovely life was for them. Their friends and family looked on with lots of smiles on their faces.
They opened up the floor for others to say something. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) stood up first, and he had some lovely advice for his daughter and son-in-law, and he let Kyle know he’s a lucky man. Nick expressed his pride in having Kyle as part of his family and the lovely life he built. Then, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) stood, and she said that the happy couple inspired her. According to Phyllis, every parent wants their child to have the kind of happiness that Kyle and Summer have. She declared them living symbols of forgiveness and trust who had a profound connection, and she encouraged them to keep on soaring,
Then it was Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) turn. He said somebody wiser than him said the best romance is inside marriage. He lauded Kyle and Summer’s marriage and togetherness at both work and home, declaring them completely in sync. He expressed how much it meant to him, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) that they chose to have their renewal at the Abbott mansion.
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) managed to make it mostly about herself when she stood up and tearfully expressed her regret for not being at Summer and Kyle’s first wedding. She expressed appreciation for their kindness and willingness to give her another chance. Diane said she was grateful to be part of their world.
Then, Mariah took over, and she asked them the traditional wedding questions, and not surprisingly, Kyle and Summer said, “I do.” Then, all their loved ones promised to support the couple. Noah pronounced them husband and wife…again.
Young and the Restless: A Grand Entrance
Back at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Diane’s mystery man (Trevor St. John) said it was nearly showtime, and he waited around. He called somebody and said, “see you on the roof. Hell, yeah, I want to make an entrance.”
An entrance he did make because as Kyle and Summer shared their kiss to seal their vow renewal, everybody heard and felt a helicopter approach. The man walked in, and Jack wanted to know what Tucker McCall was doing there. Jack said that Tucker had no right to be there and he said that Tucker isn’t even welcome.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) told Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) that she was glad Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wasn’t there to see Tucker. Then, Diane marveled at the nerve of Tucker, which made Phyllis snark back at her. Tucker admitted he didn’t wish ill on anybody there. Jack assumed he was there to see Ashley, who wasn’t there, and then he ordered Tucker to leave.
Tucker promised Jack he wouldn’t stay much longer, but he wanted to give Summer and Kyle a gift. He handed the couple the keys to a vintage Bentley, which Tucker said Kyle’s grandfather appreciated, but the bride and groom declined the gift. The mogul declared he planned to see everybody a lot more because was sticking around Genoa City. Then, he and Jack went to talk briefly, and Tucker asked when he expected Ashley to return. Jack couldn’t believe that Tucker did so much to try to impress Ashley.
Kyle, Summer, Tessa, Mariah, Noah, and Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) talked all about how Tucker was a character in the industry. They wondered why he returned, and then somebody mentioned it could possibly be for his son Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and grandson Dominic.
Later, everybody started dancing and partying. Nikki walked up to Jack, and she expressed her admiration for how Jack handled Tucker. He asked her about her trip to Los Angeles. Nikki repeated that it was for Summer’s gown, but then she also insinuated that Jack must not believe that Diane had nothing to hide. After Nikki walked away, Diane went over to Jack to ask what Tucker wanted, and Jack said he felt the man was up to something.

Nick and Victoria noticed that it was telling that Tucker showed up in Genoa City right when Chancellor-Winters was going public. Of course, they weren’t sure there was a connection. Victoria said they should warn Victor.
Nikki and Phyllis snuck inside the Abbott mansion, and Nikki told her about what she’d discovered in L.A. Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) told her that Diane had been driven around the city in a Bentley, and Phyllis thought it was a huge coincidence that Tucker had gifted Summer and Kyle a Bentley. However, Phyllis said Diane and Tucker seemed genuinely surprised to see each other. Nikki revealed that the Bentley in L.A. was owned by Private Images Limited, and she wondered if Phyllis recognized any of the company’s investors. Phyllis didn’t, but she felt certain that Diane was keeping a secret, and Nikki declared they’d expose her.
Victoria ran into Traci and asked if she’d seen Billy. Traci told her he’d left earlier and she assumed it had something to do with business. Elsewhere, the wedding party took photos, and Nikki brought Harrison out with a gift for the bride and groom, which was homemade coupons for hugs and kisses, which they loved.
Back at the hotel, Tucker texted Diane that he’d kept her secret safe, but he demanded that she tell him the moment that Ashley returns to Genoa City. Diane stepped away to read the message, and Phyllis happened to walk up on her. After Diane walked away, Phyllis and Nikki raised a glass to each other.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Yell It Out
At Chancellor Park, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) waited with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Chelsea was upset that Adam was late, and then she got a message that Adam couldn’t make it because he was at a meeting at Jabot. Connor suggested that they do whatever the three of them were going to do with just the two of them, so Chelse agreed.
She started out by telling Connor that she had information that could change his life. Chelsea told him that she loved him, and he got concerned, but she reassured him. She said that before Connor was born, she was pregnant. Chelsea let Connor know that she had a little boy that she allowed another family to raise, and he’d had a great life. Then, she told Connor that his cousin Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) was his half-brother.
Connor expressed his surprise that his mother just handed over Johnny, but she reiterated that it was a huge decision. She said she hoped Connor and Johnny, now knowing the truth, could bring them closer as a family. Connor wasn’t happy, and he thought he’d done something wrong for Chelsea to want to be Johnny’s mom and not his. Then Connor said Chelsea was pretending that it was about him, but he said it was all about her instead. Connor didn’t know why she told him now. Connor demanded that Chelsea take him back to the ranch.
Chelsea went to Crimson Lights, and she called Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). He tried to tell her he was busy at the vow renewal, but Chelsea started to cry, so he promised to be there as soon as he could. When Billy got there, Chelsea tearfully explained how she’d told Connor, and Billy seemed surprised that Chelsea told him. She pointed out that since Johnny knew, she felt she needed to tell Connor. Billy suggested that Chelsea talk to a therapist about how to move forward, and Chelsea cried that she hadn’t done that first. She hurt and alienated both Johnny and Connor, and Chelsea wondered how she could come back from it.
Billy took Chelsea to the roof of The Grand Phoenix, which is where he sometimes goes. She seemed surprised he’d brought her up there, but he suggested that she take control of the anxiety and fear she was feeling. He showed her how to get it all out by just yelling. He urged her to try it, but Chelsea didn’t want to. Ultimately, she went ahead and screamed it all out.
