The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, May 5, 2022, brings a shocking gift from beyond the grave to Tessa Porter and Mariah Copeland, courtesy of Rey Rosales. Plus, Ashland Locke makes Nick Newman an offer he can’t refuse, Sharon Rosales plans a memorial for Rey, and Chelsea Lawson struggles with her grief.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Oh boy, Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) had some surprising and exciting news for Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) who just happened to be there. Crystal Porter, her sister, can be their maid of honor, and it’s all thanks to Rey (Jordi Vilasuso).
They came to tell Sharon (Sharon Case), and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was there with her. Sharon loved hearing the news about Rey’s final gift to the family. Then Sharon dropped a bombshell that she wanted to have a memorial service for Rey in Genoa City — right then — before she took him to Miami.
Turned out the church was available, and they let just a few people know about it including Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway). The family worked together to put something together, and Tessa agreed to sing. After everyone left, Sharon spoke to Rey’s photo, talking about how hard it was to believe he was gone. She vowed to find a way to manage without him.
Young and the Restless: Redemption?
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) ran into Ashland (Robert Newman) at Crimson Lights, and she let him know that he should leave town if he truly loves her — of course, she’s not quite that convincing. Then Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) walked in and tried to talk to his sister, but she shot him down. As Victoria left, Ashland tried to build some camaraderie with Adam because they both got shot down by Victoria.
However, Adam didn’t buy it. He insisted that he and Ashland had nothing in common. Then, Ashland texted Nick to meet, and Sharon told him to check it out despite Nick’s desire to stay and help her with Rey’s quickie memorial. At the meeting, Ashland offered Nick a $250 million donation to New Hope, and Nick told Ashland to go to hell. However, Ashland said his only requirement was that the work is done in Rey’s name. Nick still didn’t appreciate it, and he felt Ashland hoped to get some redemption from the donation.

Y&R Spoilers Recap: New Hope
As for Victoria, she showed up at Newman Enterprises to a brand new portrait of herself hanging in her office. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) showed up and let her daughter know that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) commissioned it and put a rush on it. Then Nikki reassured Victoria that Victor hadn’t lost faith in her.
Nick showed up at the office, and he let Nikki and Victoria know about Ashland’s donation offer for New Hope. He remained skeptical, but Victoria seemed intrigued. Nick didn’t want Ashland to be able to buy his way back into the family and the city’s good graces. However, Victoria told her brother to take every penny Ashland offered. She assured her mom and brother that Ashland would never win her back in a million years.
Y&R: Off The Rails
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) mourned Rey, and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) didn’t think her reaction seemed normal. Chelsea discussed how great of friends they’d become and how guilty both she and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) felt about his death. Connor stopped playing hockey. However, Chloe seemed to figure out that her friend had more than friendly feelings toward the late cop. Chelsea vehemently denied it, and Chloe let it go given her friend’s obvious discomfort with the turn of the conversation.
Later, when Chelsea freaked out about Ashland living and wondered if he even tried to help Rey, Chloe tried to point out to her friend that she needed to interrupt the negative spiral she seemed to be in. Chelsea agreed to go back to her room and get some rest.
