The Y&R spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 24, 2022, brings discomfort and leaps of faith all around. Imani Benedict sure knows how to make things awkward, and Billy Abbott also feels uncomfortable around all the family talk at work. Meanwhile, Adam Newman and Sally Spectra scheme while Nick Newman tries to make Sharon Rosales smile with his over-the-top milkshake fundraiser plans.
Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) and Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) mom experienced some heart health complications. At Society, Amanda tried to talk her sister down until the doctor called. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) was there, and he managed to give Imani some comfort as Amanda talked to the doctor.
Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) showed up and saw a small moment between the two. Then, she ended up staying while Nate went to a meeting for Chancellor Winters. Because she is nosey, Imani asked Elena to relive her, Nate, Amanda, and Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) whole sordid history, and things got uncomfortable.
Later, Elena warned Nate that Imani is after him, but he reassured her that she was the only woman for him. Meanwhile, across the hall, Amanda finally told Devon about her mother’s health issues, and he took issue with her not telling him before, but of course, remained supportive.
Speaking of Chancellor Winters, Devon, Nate, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), and Billy (Jason Thompson) met about their upcoming launch party. Billy seemed to get upset about the family aspect (because Y&R somehow forgot that Billy’s mother owns Chancellor, not Lily), and after the meeting was over, Lily asked him about it. Billy did admit that he felt a bit insecure about it, but he promised Lily he’d work on that.
As far as working on it, Billy decided to do another podcast. Will his talking to his many listeners be enough to help him overcome the (manufactured) drama? Who knows?
At Crimson Lights, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) lifted Sharon’s (Sharon Case) spirits with some ideas they had about a milkshake fundraiser for New Hope. Nick showed off all the moves he remembered from his bartending days, and he even made Sharon a mocha, which she seemed to love.
Things got a bit heavy when Noah walked away (not that he was listening to them much anyway; he was engrossed in Billy’s podcast), and they talked about Sharon’s upcoming empty nest. During it, Nick promised he’d be there with Sharon as she adjusted to yet another life change this year.
Adam (Mark Grossman) and Sally (Courtney Hope) continued talking about their plan to force Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) back together to show how unfit his sister is to run Newman. Of course, they had to stay out of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) surveillance of Ashland for it to work the way they’d hoped. Ultimately, they enjoyed some adult time as a diversion, and then Sally wondered if Victor couldn’t go to a golf tournament or boxing camp to keep him busy, and Adam thought up something even more promising — a crisis.
