The Y&R spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 18, 2022, brings the conclusion of Mariah Copeland and Tessa Porter’s wedding. Plus, Jack Abbott and Phyllis Summers kiss as Diane Jenkins seems overly focused on them.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
It was dance musical chairs at the wedding. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) invited Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) to dance, but she declined, suggesting he dance with Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) instead. Then, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) asked Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but he wanted to ask Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) to take a turn on the dance floor instead.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) cut in on Summer and her dad, and he took her to meet Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Diane expressed her desire to forge a relationship with her daughter-in-law, and Jack and Phyllis noticed. He kept Phyllis from barging over to tell off Diane, but she did promise to stop a big scene from happening while also tossing Diane out on her backside.
Summer let her mother-in-law know that they weren’t going to be besties anytime soon. Then, she revealed she planned to take her husband’s lead no matter what he decided to do regarding Diane, which Diane seemed to respect.
Phyllis marched over and invited Diane to leave. Summer failed to say goodbye to Diane, and Kyle said he’d walk her out. Phyllis and Summer wondered what damage Diane had planned for their lives. Later Phyllis showed up at Diane’s hotel room, and they argued. Phyllis screamed that Diane is a “cancer” and told her to leave. Then she ordered her out of The Grand Phoenix, but Diane said she planned to stay in Genoa City. She felt both Kyle and Jack could forgive her.
Young and the Restless: City of Love
Elsewhere, the brides toasted Crystal Porter (Morgan Obenreder), and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) expressed her wish that her sister would stay in Genoa City for forever. Crystal said she wasn’t sure how long she’d be in town. Then, they discussed how Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) designed their dresses (who knew?). Finally, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) tempted fate by toasting to Friday the 13th.
The brides tried to get Sharon to dance, but she declined. However, she did want to give a toast. Later, Sharon bowed out due to jet lag from her trip to Miami. Tessa and Mariah thanked her for everything she did. Nick offered to take Sharon home. However, before they left, Sharon and Nick dropped an exciting bombshell on the brides — they got them the honeymoon of their dreams in Paris.
Once Nick got Sharon home, he offered to hang out for a bit. They talked about life and love and happiness. She thanked her ex-husband for always being there when she needs him.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Flirting
Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) apologized to Allie for his corny jokes at their first meeting. They had a brief conversation, and things seemed to go well. Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) noticed, and they had a few words to say about new family and old family.
Noah declared Allie analytical and not artistic, and she joked back with him about being offended. Jack came over, and Allie and Noah made a few more bad jokes about the Newman-Abbott rivalry.
Later, Noah caught up with Summer, and they traded some friendly sibling barbs. After that, she and Kyle danced, and Summer admitted that she didn’t trust Diane one bit.
Y&R: Another Chance
Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) enjoyed time together at the wedding, and on his way out, Nick told them not to have too much fun. Faith and Moses kissed after declaring how happy they are to attend the same college.
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) observed the teenage couple, and Devon worried about his baby brother falling in love at such a young age.
The brides tried to leave, but they had to toss the bouquet. Chloe Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) caught it, so she tossed it, and Abby snagged it, and she tossed it to Jack — he declared his next wedding would be the charm.
Back at the Abbott mansion, Allie asked Jack how many times he’d been married, but the doorbell rang, and Phyllis came in. Allie went up to bed, and Phyllis told Jack that Diane would leave town because she kicked her out of the hotel. She was upset about Jack’s lack of enthusiasm for her actions. Jack insisted that Kyle needed more time with his mother. After some more discussion about the bouquet, she kissed him. Back in her room, Diane remembered watching Phyllis and Jack dance at the wedding.
The brides finally walked into their beautifully decorated apartment and celebrated that they actually did it! They indeed were married ladies now.
