The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, June 24, 2022, brings Phyllis Summers reluctantly calling a truce with Diane Jenkins at Summer Newman Abbott’s request. Plus, Victor Newman announced Adam Newman as the new CEO of Newman Enterprises while Ashland Locke and Victoria Newman watched from New York.
Although she clearly didn’t want to, Summer (Allison Lanier) insisted that her mother meets with Diane (Susan Walters) at Chancellor Park. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) went, and even though she managed to get in a few barbs, she offered an olive branch to Diane. Phyllis called a truce.
For her part, Diane wasn’t so convinced, but she went straight to the Abbott mansion and told Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) all about what happened. After Kyle left, Diane sneakily placed doubt in Jack’s mind about Phyllis’s motivations for calling the truce. Then, Phyllis texted Jack asking to meet.
Meanwhile, at The Grand Phoenix, Summer and Kyle discussed the whole thing, and the talk turned to getting Diane a job at Marchetti. Summer wasn’t sure it was the best idea for Kyle to have his mother so closely entwined in his life again, and he seemed concerned too.
Meanwhile, at Newman Enterprises, Victor (Eric Braeden) called a press conference. In it, he announced Adam (Mark Grossman) as the new CEO of the company. Adam took his turn in front of reporters, and he also announced Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) as the CEO of Newman Media.
After the announcement, Sally and Adam exchanged gifts and talked about how all their dreams were coming true. Those two were on top of the world (so you know what that means…a crash most likely).
In New York, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) called Nick (Joshua Morrow) to tell him where she was. She wouldn’t tell him much about her professional plan, but she let her brother know she was okay. He went straight to Victor to let him know Victoria had contacted him.
Meanwhile, Victoria and Ashland watched Victor’s press conference, and they sneered at Adam taking over the reins, but Victoria also told Ashland that her father was trying to get to her, but it didn’t work. Then, they met with investors and things went well. However, after the meeting, Victoria suggested they put up their own capital for their new business, which gave Ashland pause.
Finally, Victor met with Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) and told him to pressure the investors not to invest with Victoria and Ashland. Michael promised to get right to it, but perhaps Victor’s move played right into his daughter’s hands.
