The Y&R spoilers recap for Thursday, July 7, 2022, brings Nick Newman examining what he truly wants while Victoria Newman and Victor Newman try to plan for the future. Meanwhile, Billy Abbott gloats about Adam’s change in fortune, Ashland Locke sends a spy to Genoa City, and Chelsea Lawson surprises Chloe Fisher.
Will he or won’t he? That’s what Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) wanted to know about her son Nick (Joshua Morrow). She tried to get him to tell her his decision about Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) job offer. He wondered why on earth he’d go back to the family business when he sees Victor (Eric Braeden) playing his sister against his brother Adam (Mark Grossman).
Despite his misgivings, Nick admitted he’d seriously considered rejoining Newman Enterprises. Nikki seemed to hope her son would do it now that he had the confidence that he could succeed away from his father.
As for Victor, he and Victoria spoke. He was thrilled at the job she’d done ridding the family of Ashland (Robert Newman) — don’t speak too soon, Victor. She wanted to know how mad her dad was at her, and the answer was not very. Unfortunately for her, he did encourage her to work with Adam, but Victoria didn’t seem too receptive.
Speaking of Adam, Billy (Jason Thompson) couldn’t help but get his digs in on the guy after he visited Victoria at work and found out what she did. At Society, Billy sat by Adam at the bar and goaded his nemesis over losing the CEO job yet again. Adam warned his foe that when his back is against the wall and he’s hurting he’s at his most dangerous. Oopsie Billy Boy…that sounded ominous.
Speaking of ominous, Ashland sent his henchman to Genoa City to spy on everything Victoria does. He wanted to know each movement. The guy also overheard Adam and Billy verbally sparring at Society, and it seemed he had a plan to relay the details to his boss. Ashland claimed he’d keep a low profile in Genoa City…for the time being.
Finally, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) told Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) that she’d been right about everything. She owed her friend a huge debt of gratitude, so to repay Chloe, Chelsea decided to dissolve their partnership. Wait, what? Well, it’s the nicest thing she can do for Chloe given that Chelsea isn’t emotionally ready to deal with their commitment to Fenmore’s or a new job at Marchetti. They’ll always be friends, though. After Chelsea left, Chloe called up Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and told her she wanted to talk about the Chief Operating Officer position.
