The Y&R spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 5, 2022, brings a brand new idea from Lily Winters, and it could leave Phyllis Summers fuming. Plus, Chance Chancellor woos his wife until work interrupts, Amanda Sinclair gets reassurances from Devon Hamilton, Nate Hastings falls for Imani Benedict’s lies, and Victoria Newman returns to Genoa City.
Lily (Christel Khalil) wants to own a hotel, and she runs the idea past Amanda (Mishael Morgan), Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose), and Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway). Obviously, Abby thinks it’s amazing, and she explained that she didn’t continue pursuing her hotel across from Phyllis’s (Michelle Morgan) due to all the drama Phyllis caused.
Amanda tried to stand up for her friend, but she did admit that the idea was a good one. Lily noted that Devon (Bryton James) had sold the Athletic Club, and Chancellor-Winters needed a fancy new place to host their artists. Then, she floated buying out Phyllis from The Grand Phoenix, and Amanda didn’t see that happening. That didn’t mean Lily wouldn’t try, though. She hoped to build an even grander Phoenix in Genoa City.
At Chancellor Park, Chance (Conner Floyd) and Devon finished a run, and they cleared the air a bit about Dominic. Then, Chance went to Society to invite Abby on a picnic, which interrupted Lily’s discussion of a new hotel, but she was happy to leave Abby some time with Chance. Of course, during their time together, Chance got a text from work, and Abby insisted that he see to it, cutting their time short.
Elsewhere, Nate (Sean Dominic) said goodbye to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) with a bit of adult time together. She tried unsuccessfully to lure him to Hawaii with her, but he declined. Later, Imani ran into Nate at Crimson Lights, and she lied to him about Elena’s contract. When he asked her to make a meeting with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), Imani lied about that, and instead, made reservations for two, and Nate fell right into her trap.
Back at their penthouse, Devon reassured Amanda of his love and devotion to her. She cried about her mom and about how fragile things felt. Devon promised her he’d always be there for her.
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) returned home. She called Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to her hotel suite to thank him for coming to her before she left town. Meanwhile, back at Newman Enterprises, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) sniped at each other about Victoria’s return. The woman in question asked to meet everybody, and then she also got in touch with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), letting him know her lying liar of an ex is out of her life for good.
Back in New York, Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) attempted unsuccessfully to get his money back. Then, he chartered a flight to Chicago, proving he had something in the works.
Billy managed to annoy Lily by how happy he was that Victoria was home, showing some further cracks in their relationship. Finally, Victoria showed up at Newman Enterprises, and Adam wasn’t too pleased.
