The Y&R spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 19, 2022, brings unlikely allies in Nikki Newman, Phyllis Summers, and Ashley Abbott against Diane Jenkins. Plus, Jack Abbott tries to talk sense into Adam Newman after he cruelly broke things off with Sally Spectra. Meanwhile, she attempts to keep her job by laying it all on the line for Nick Newman and Victoria Newman. Finally, Noah Newman and Allie Nguyen take things to the next level.
Stranger things have happened in Genoa City, but not often. It seems that Diane (Susan Walters) had the power to unite usual enemies Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), and Ashley (Eileen Davidson). At Crimson Lights, Diane tried to flaunt her new job and place in the Abbott family in their faces, but the women weren’t having it. After she left, the women decided that the saying, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” was true, and they vowed to do something about Diane.
Before that, Diane looked on as Phyllis attempted to make small talk with Allie (Kelsey Wang) and Noah (Rory Gibson), but they left. That caused Diane to give Phyllis a hard time about using Jack’s granddaughter to worm her way back into his good graces. Of course, Diane is one to talk about using Allie to get to Jack.
Before she headed to the coffeehouse, Ashley had a meal with her brother at Society. Of course, talk turned to Phyllis. Jack tried not to get into it, but Ashley insisted. Once he explained that Phyllis had rubbed Diane’s nose in their lovemaking, Ashley surprised her brother by understanding what Phyllis had done. In fact, she tried to set her brother straight about things and told him that he seemed too soft on Diane.
Adam (Mark Grossman) walked in, and Jack excused himself to go speak to him, and Ashley seemed annoyed that her brother so readily befriended the town pariahs. At the bar, Jack brought up the press conference and all the big changes at Newman Enterprises, and Adam tried to downplay it all. Jack warned Adam not to spiral, but Adam mentioned that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) shouldn’t be worried about him as the cameras panned to Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) stewing in his jail cell.
Before Adam hit Society’s bar, he went to Newman Media, and Sally (Courtney Hope) was relieved to see him. Of course, he failed to accept her hug, and things went downhill from there. Adam cruelly told her that she’s the reason he lost everything he ever wanted. She seemed to suspect that Adam was breaking things off to help her keep her job as CEO, and she told him not to. However, Adam didn’t listen even though Sally cried.
Adam left Sally and ran into Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) as they were arriving to fire her, and he told them Sally would be a loyal and hardworking CEO, encouraging them to keep her. They remained unmoved. However, once they got into Sally’s office, with nothing to lose, she plead her case through tears, and Nick took Victoria outside to discuss keeping her.
Finally, at the Abbott mansion, Noah and Allie once again discussed his plan to leave New Hope. Then, they shared their first kiss.
