The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, July 18, 2022, brings Victor Newman putting a jailed Ashland Locke on notice. Plus, Victoria Newman reveals her plans for the future of Newman Enterprises, Sally Spectra worries about her job, Diane Jenkins worries about Kyle Abbott’s wrath, and Noah Newman has surprising plans for Top of the Tower.
Police arrested Ashland (Robert Newman), and even Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) had to give a tiny ounce of credit to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Of course, she still told Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) that Diane was trying to rehab her image by tipping them off.
Later, Victor showed up at the jail, and he told a belligerent Ashland that he deserved to rot in prison, but Ashland thought Victor is the one who deserved to feel loss. Ashland accused The Mustache of using Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) as a pawn. Victor put Ashland on notice, grabbing him by the shirt and pointing his finger.
Before that, back at Newman Enterprises, the Newmans minus Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) held a press conference to announce Victoria (Amelia Heinle) as the co-CEO with Nikki. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and newly hired Chief Operating Officer Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) sat and watched the whole thing online, fearing what it meant for their jobs.
As for Victoria, she didn’t feel the need to keep Sally around, but she didn’t have an immediate replacement. Victor no longer felt she was needed if she and Adam broke up. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) seemed to agree with his sister, as did Nikki.
Back at the Abbott mansion, Diane worried that Kyle (Michael Mealor) might be mad at her since she allowed Ashland close to Harrison for a brief moment. While Diane carried on, Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) seemed to grow slightly suspicious of her mother-in-law’s behavior, but Kyle was full of compassion, telling his mom she did everything right.
Finally, Noah (Rory Gibson) met up with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) at the rooftop pool. Tessa revealed that her second opinion agreed with her first opinion, so she has to have surgery — the next day. Of course, Mariah noted that they planned to stay very very (very) positive.
Then, Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) showed up, and she accidentally let Noah’s desire to leave New Hope slip, so he had to explain himself. His plan? To ask Grandpa Victor if he can rent Top of the Tower and turn it into a disco club — naturally. Everybody thought that was a fabulous idea. He even opined that Tessa might play there some time, but she noted he couldn’t afford her.
