The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, April 18, 2022, brings a cold welcome for Diane Jenkins when Phyllis Summers figures out she’s at The Grand Phoenix and lets Jack Abbot know. Jack finally contacts Kyle Abbott, and Ashland Locke thinks he won, but Victoria Newman Locke gives him an unwanted surprise.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Diane (Susan Walters) thought she pulled one over on everybody in Genoa City. However, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) figured out her alias and confronted her. Diane tried to be welcoming, but Phyllis wasn’t having it. She did everything she could to push Diane’s buttons, but the woman wouldn’t rise to the occasion no matter how much Phyllis provoked her.
Phyllis warned Diane that she doubted Kyle (Michael Mealor) would have anything to do with her. At that, Diane complimented Phyllis on her excellent hospitality skills. After Phyllis left, Diane managed to read up on all the news on the Newmans, and then she wondered out loud if she’d made a mistake coming back to the city where everyone wanted her dead.
Young and the Restless: Best Laid Plans
Meanwhile, Jack (Peter Bergman) phoned Kyle, and when he got off the phone, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) asked her brother what he had planned. Jack told his sister about what Diane had been up to after faking her death. It seemed she tried to fall back on her architectural work, but with no reputation, it didn’t work out well for Diane. So then, she became a realtor, earning enough money to make a life for herself and supposedly getting some therapy.
Jack worried that Diane would try to convince Kyle to support her. Instead, Traci urged her brother to focus on positive things, so he mentioned that when Kyle visits Genoa City, Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) agreed to come to meet everyone too. That gave Traci pause because she felt that Diane being there could throw a wrench into everything.
At that, Phyllis showed up unannounced and wanted to know if the Abbotts wanted the bad news or the really bad news. Then she dumped the details on Diane’s visit to The Grand Phoenix. Jack thanked Phyllis for helping him so much and being there for him, and she noted that this thing with Diane was personal for her. After all, Diane affected Summer Newman Abbott’s happiness too. Finally, Jack showed up at Diane’s door, and he confronted her about why she’d showed up in Genoa City.

Ashland worried about her children, but she said she felt that she could reason with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) where they were concerned. Y&R: Love Doesn’t Just Switch Off
Ashland showed up at Newman Media, and he signed the paperwork, so Victor transferred the $500 million. Ashland warned the men not to be too surprised when he wasn’t finished with their whole family.
Back at Newman Locke, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) comforted Victoria, and she worried that her daughter really planned to go through with leaving with Ashland. Victoria cried to her mother, and Nikki comforted her. Victoria admitted that she still felt love for Ashland and was having a hard time.
Nikki left, and later Ashland returned. He let Victoria know it was time to go for their brand new start. However, Victoria left him stunned when she asked him if he’d really believed that all his lies wouldn’t mean their end.
