The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, September 15, 2023, brings the truth about what happened with Tucker and Ashley.
Also in this episode, Kyle tries to spend time with Audra, but she blows him off. Billy tries to enact his plan with Tucker. Abby and Devon compare notes about what their parents said happened while Jack and Diane worry about what Tucker has planned for their family. Now, let’s dig deeper into what went down.
Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) resolved not to let Tucker ruin their happiness. Diane reassured Jack that he could count on her no matter what happened.
Later, Jack got a call from Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and she told him everything had changed. She explained she’d realized she couldn’t walk away from Jabot or the family. Ashley said when she told Tucker her feelings, that he got angrier than she’d ever seen him. That made her realize that the Tucker she’d fallen in love with was a facade, and she couldn’t live with that.
Jack updated Diane on his call with Ashley, and he wasn’t happy about how Tucker reacted to Ashley’s change of heart. Diane pointed out that the silver lining was that Jack and Ashley were in a better place.

At the GCAC, Kyle (Michael Mealor) wanted Tucker (Trevor St. John) to tell him where Ashley was, and Tucker gave him a slick answer. As Tucker left, Kyle wanted to know what Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and Tucker had discussed, but she blew him off.
Billy (Jason Thompson) walked in, wanting to discuss Audra and Tucker with Kyle. He told his nephew he didn’t trust Kyle, but it didn’t bother Kyle even when he found out Ashley wasn’t communicating. Ultimately, Billy asked Kyle to spy on Tucker and Audra, but Kyle declined.
Billy continued pushing Kyle, pointing out that Tucker might want revenge on the family. He made a case for why Kyle might care because it might impact Diane and Jack. Of course, Kyle admitted he didn’t love seeing Audra and Tucker rekindling their friendship, but he still couldn’t see how Audra would confide in him.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) worried about her mom, and Devon (Bryton James) tried to calm her fears. He promised to get his dad to tell him the truth about what happened, but Abby wasn’t sure they could trust Tucker.
Tucker showed up to see Devon. Devon flat-out asked his dad to tell him what happened in Paris. Tucker flashed back to being with Ashley in Paris, where she explained she couldn’t walk away from Jabot and her family. Tucker told his son that everything went wrong in Paris.
Tucker revealed that he and Ashley disagreed over Jabot and starting their own company, which meant their marriage was doomed. Devon didn’t buy it, and he asked his dad if he’d done something to Ashley.
Tucker denied he’d done something to Ashley, and he blamed the hold that the Abbotts had over her. He told Devon that he couldn’t compete with Jabot, and he didn’t want to try. Devon wasn’t entirely convinced by his dad’s story, though.
Abby returned, and she’d heard from Ashley. She revealed Ashley said the whole thing was over and Abby should worry about Tucker being so hurt and angry. Abby yelled at Tucker for breaking her mom’s heart, but he said Ashley had broken his, and the whole thing was over.
Tucker left, and Devon updated Abby on what Tucker had told him, and they compared notes about the situation. Abby said Tucker hadn’t really changed, which shouldn’t have surprised either of them. She said that Ashley didn’t seem interested in returning to Genoa City soon. Abby also revealed that Ashley suspected Tucker was plotting revenge and that Jack and Billy agreed.
Tucker returned to the GCAC, and Billy stopped him to talk about his imploding marriage to Ashley. Billy put his plan in motion by complaining about Jack giving Ashley too much leeway, and he said he was pissed at his sister.
Tucker wanted Billy to get to the point, and after Billy explained, Tucker pointed out that Billy was always looking out for number one. He called Billy predictable, asking some pointed questions about him telling Jack that Billy was ready to take over Jabot.
Tucker went to his suite alone, and he left Ashley a voicemail yelling at her for telling Abby he was the problem. He was furious at being painted as the bad guy. Tucker threw his phone but later picked it up and left another message asking where they went wrong.
Billy went to the Abbot mansion, and Jack updated his brother about Ashley’s call. Diane wondered how Tucker seemed, and Billy revealed Tucker had been angry and had an agenda. They declared Tucker was a threat, but they’d be ready for him.
