Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Young and the Restless: Meddling Mother
Summer (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) discussed her recent trip to Milan over meals at Society. She said she’d moved forward, and Phyllis didn’t seem to accept the reality that Summer and Kyle were divorcing.
Summer pushed her mother to promise not to try to reunite her with Kyle, and Phyllis said she was moving forward. Phyllis changed the topic to Daniel and Lily, but she mentioned Heather was in Genoa City. Summer insisted that her mother stay out of that, too. She wanted Phyllis not to interfere in her or her brother’s life. Summer said she felt happy and free, stronger than she had in a long time.

Summer turned talk to Phyllis’s life, and Phyllis told her daughter that the job with Adam fell through, which concerned Summer. Phyllis admitted that she had a lunch set with Heather, which worried Summer about her mom’s meddling.
At Crimson Lights, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Heather (Vail Bloom) had an awkward encounter. However, as they talked, things eased. Ultimately, Heather admitted that her life in Portugal changed when things in her relationship there didn’t go well.
Heather also noted that it seemed like Lucy might wish the three of them could be a family again. They agreed to be on the same page with Lucy. Heather dropped a bombshell that she didn’t want to return to Portugal. She wanted to ensure that Lucy got to spend more time with Daniel, but he said she should also consider what was best for herself.
Summer walked in as Heather left, and she and Daniel discussed their mother’s meddling. Neither of them felt at all interested in what their mom wanted to see happen in their lives. Daniel said things were good with Lily, and all he wanted was to be friends with Heather. Summer told her brother they had a big problem with Phyllis trying to fix their former relationships, so they agreed to stop their mom.
Young and the Restless Recap: A Celebration
Jack (Peter Bergman) presented Diane (Susan Walters) with an invitation to their wedding celebration. All she had to do was pick a date. He suggested early October, and he wanted to take care of the details.
Billy (Jason Thompson) remembered an argument with his brother about Jabot. He talked to Diane and Jack, and he apologized for not supporting her working there. Billy said he’d erroneously bought into Tucker and Ashley’s narrative, and he started to give into his dark side. The trio decided to go to lunch together to celebrate.
In the GCAC dining room, Audra (Zuleyka Silver) tried to talk to Tucker (Trevor St. John), but he wasn’t interested. However, she was concerned about Tucker looking like “hell.” He admitted he’d underestimated how committed to Jack Ashley was. After some cajoling, Tucker revealed he and Ashley argued. Audra didn’t buy it. Even so, Tucker refused to open up to his former partner in crime.
Upstairs, Tucker remembered his and Ashley’s wedding night. He flashed back to his honeymoon with Ashley, and she wasn’t happy. Ashley admitted she was thinking about her brother, and she told him about the time she left Jabot with all her patents and went to Paris. The place they were dining reminded Ashley of making up with Jack during that argument. Tucker looked sad back in his suite.
Tucker went to Society, and he was rude to Phyllis. Heather walked in, and Tucker greeted her. He let her know if she stayed in Genoa City, he needed a good attorney.
Y&R Recap: Missing
Jack, Diane, and Billy walked into the GCAC, and they asked Tucker where Ashley was, but he wasn’t forthcoming. Audra tried to leave, and she wouldn’t tell them, either. Jack called his sister and left a message for her to call him back.
They discussed the possibility of the whole thing being a ploy, but Diane pointed out that Tucker seemed genuinely upset. Diane left, and Jack asked Billy about his abrupt change of heart. They talked through things, and Billy promised to help Diane get up to speed with the family business. Jack was happy, and they parted on a positive note, but neither seemed to quite believe it.
At Chancellor Park, Diane ran into Abby (Melissa Ordway). She thanked her uncle’s new wife for saving her mom’s life, and Diane said it was what anybody would’ve done. However, Abby pointed out that it was a big deal that Diane had done it after all Ashley had done.
Abby noted that she felt her mom was letting go of her anger and resentment in Paris on her honeymoon. Diane reluctantly informed Abby that Tucker was back…alone. Abby seemed concerned about her mother, and she left Ashley a voicemail.
