The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, October 2, 2023, brings Sally feeling guilty over Adam kissing her, so she tells Nick.

Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Nate and Adam set ground rules while Victoria tries to convince Victor that she’s on board with his new plans. Plus, Audra and Nikki make a new hire — Claire Grace. Now let’s dig deeper into what went down.

Young and the Restless: Truth

In her hotel room, Sally (Courtney Hope) slept while Nick (Joshua Morrow) arranged for breakfast. She dreamed of her and Adam’s kiss, and in it, Nick showed up saying, “Sally.” She woke up and joined Nick for breakfast in bed.

They talked, and he expressed how much he loved her and missed her while he was gone, but Sally didn’t know what to say. Sally said she loved Nick but that she wasn’t “in love” with him, necessarily because she couldn’t get her heart there due to her recent past.

Before they left for work, Sally arranged to meet Nick in the park for lunch. He was happy to accept, so he called Victor to cancel their lunch. Sally suggested that Nick show Victor he still loved him, so Nick called Victor back to arrange to meet for a drink at the end of the day.

At the park, Sally guiltily daydreamed about Nick catching Adam kissing her. When Nick showed up for lunch, Sally blurted out, “Adam kissed me.”

Young and the Restless Recap: Suspicion

At the GCAC, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nate (Sean Dominic) set ground rules for Adam’s new job. Nate took exception to Adam’s comments, and he apologized. Adam insisted he was ready to go to work, but Nate still didn’t buy what he thought was Adam’s insincere attitude, and he said he didn’t trust Adam at all.

Nate declared that all Adam would do is handle all the menial office duties, and he would personally pay for another assistant for more critical tasks. Adam called him out on bucking Victor’s orders. He continued insisting that he’d had a wake-up call, but Nate still didn’t have faith in Adam.

Nate expressed his belief that Victor chose him to supervise Adam to keep him from sabotaging the company. Adam vowed that Nate was wrong and that he’d pay his dues to rise to the top. He said Nate couldn’t break him.

At Newman Enterprises, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) told Victor (Eric Braeden) that she wanted to make peace. She expressed that she’d seen the wisdom of her father’s moves and accepted them, which he felt was quite a change of heart.

Victoria traced their problems back to acquiring Newman Media from Ashland Locke and then acquiring McCall Unlimited. She said it tore the family apart instead of bringing it together. Of course, Victoria blamed Adam for everything. Victor refused to discuss Adam, though. Ultimately Victoria said she would give her brother another chance, but Victor thought she was giving in too easily.

Victor told his daughter he’d worried she wouldn’t come around. Victoria wondered what he would’ve done if she hadn’t, and he said he would’ve fired her…what’s more, he still could if she didn’t act right.

Victor welcomed Nate and Adam into the office. Adam thanked his dad for offering him the job as Nate’s assistant, which made Victor happy. Adam and Victoria left, and Victor asked Nate how things had really gone with Adam. Nate said he was cautiously optimistic, but Victor noted that his kids had fallen into line too easily.

By the elevator, Victoria complained to Adam that he had his own office. They insulted each other. Neither sibling bought the other’s act.

Young and the Restless Recap: New Hire

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) interviewed Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) at Society. They grilled her on her education and experience. Nikki seemed impressed that Claire had done her research.

Claire let them know that she was tired of the chaos of Chicago, which is why she’d hoped to relocate to Genoa City. She’d had a college friend, Sofia Carmichael, who was from town and recommended. Nikki knew the family, but she hadn’t met their daughter. Claire also said she’d lost her parents in a car accident when she was a child, leaving her great-aunt to raise her.

Ultimately, after a discussion, Nikki and Audra offered Claire the job. After Claire left, Nikki gave Audra a veiled threat to not get in her way.
