The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, September 7, 2023, brings Nate calling out Audra for lying to him…and Nikki.

Young and the Restless: Discontent
Jack (Peter Bergman) told Diane (Susan Walters) that Ashley and Tucker were on their honeymoon in Paris. He felt their war with her was over, but Diane wasn’t convinced. Talk turned to Billy, and Jack admitted he’d made a mistake in recruiting his younger brother to be their Trojan Horse.
Jack told Diane he might have to let Billy go, and he wanted her to step up if that happened. Diane said it should be Kyle, though.

Billy (Jason Thompson) stopped by the Chancellor mansion supposedly to see Dominic, but the little boy wasn’t there. Abby (Melissa Ordway) updated Billy on her mom’s honeymoon, but he wanted to talk about Diane. He said Diane had plans for the company, which would hurt Jabot.
Billy pointed out that Diane’s postnuptial agreement had tricky language that hinged on her having a board seat. He said he’d made a bylaw barring Diane from having a seat on the board for a decade, and he wanted Abby’s support. Abby urged caution, worrying about starting another war, and she declined to support him.
Back at Jabot, Billy clashed with Jack and asked Diane to give him time alone with his brother. Billy insisted they get the board to stipulate Diane’s role, which offended Jack. They argued, and Billy called out Jack for not trusting him. Jack wondered what changed, and Billy reminded him that they had worked together to protect Jabot, which he didn’t think Jack was doing anymore.
When Billy walked out of the office, Diane asked him if she’d traded one enemy for another. Billy denied being Diane’s enemy. Instead, he said he took issue with her position at Jabot. Billy promised to protect his father’s company.
Young and the Restless Recap: Lie Detector
Nate (Sean Dominic) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) toasted to surviving over breakfast at Society. Audra pouted about her demotion, but she revealed she felt Nikki was ready to work with her. Nate wondered if Nikki knew what was up with her and Kyle outside of work, and Audra confirmed Nikki was aware, telling Nate the whole thing was over. Nate warned her not to risk her job over Kyle.

Kyle (Michael Mealor) arrived at the ranch to see Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). She called him out on his affair with Audra. Nikki updated him about insisting Audra end their relationship immediately, and Kyle confirmed it was over (it wasn’t). Of course, Nikki insisted that Kyle try to work things out with Summer. Kyle told Nikki that things with Summer weren’t salvageable, even if it meant her firing him.
Back at Society, Audra wondered if Nate worried about Nick turning Victoria against him, but Nate declared he wasn’t concerned at all since Victoria would always have his back. Nate wanted a promise from Audra about Kyle because he didn’t want her to make him look bad. Nikki walked up, wondering how Audra could make him look bad.
As they talked, Audra got a text from Kyle about meeting in the park. She played it off and quickly left.
Y&R Recap: The Truth
Abby saw Kyle at Chancellor Park. He got irritated when she asked how he felt about his marriage ending. Kyle said he was free, and Summer had held him back, so it felt good to be rid of her. Abby advised her cousin to stop avoiding his feelings, but Kyle reassured her that he wasn’t. He suggested she call him “Smilin’ Kyle.”
At Crimson Lights, Billy showed up while Kyle was getting drinks for himself and Audra. Billy ultimately admitted that he and Jack were having issues at work, and Kyle wondered if it was about Diane. However, Billy reminded his nephew that he’d walked away, so Kyle agreed, warning Billy not to mess with his mother before he walked out. Billy flashed back to his recent concerns about Diane.
Audra showed up at the park, and Nate followed her. Kyle arrived with their drinks and tried to kiss Audra, but she pushed him away as it was too risky. They flirted a bit, and he updated Audra on his meeting with Nikki.
Abby called her uncle Jack to tell him about her conversation with Kyle. Jack called Kyle and asked his son to stop by the house to talk with him and Diane. Kyle left Audra, and Nate walked up, calling her out on her lies to him and Nikki Newman.
