The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, November 22, 2023, brings Gloria sweeping back into town just in time for Thanksgiving.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Mamie told Devon, Lily, Nate, Abby, and Daniel what her and Tucker’s plans were for Chancellor-Winters. The Abbotts celebrated Thanksgiving. Audra called out Tucker for not truly committing, and later, Tucker and Ashley reached an agreement. Now, let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Shotgun Thanksgiving
At Society, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) profusely thanked Abby (Melissa Ordway) for coming through with a Thanksgiving for her family at the last minute. It seemed Gloria (Judith Chapman) and Michael (Christian Le Blanc) returned without calling in advance, and Glo wanted all the trimmings.
Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) walked in, full of fear about how bad things would be with Gloria. Speaking of, a sunglasses-wearing Glo walked in with Michael. She was full of drama about her brush with prison, and she wanted to know all about her reason for living — her grandchildren. Abby said goodbye to everybody and left to be with Devon.
Gloria managed to insult Lauren by complaining that she’d wanted a home-cooked meal after so much prison food. Lauren set her straight. As they all caught up, the details of Gloria’s crime came into question, and she tried to brush it off. However, Michael threatened to tell what she’d done himself if she didn’t — after they ate their meal.
Once everybody noted what they were thankful for, it was Gloria’s turn. She tried to avoid telling the truth about her shenanigans, but ultimately she did. She’d had an affair with a diplomat, and his wife came home during it. Of course, as she left, she stole quite a few items from the wife’s wardrobe.
The diplomat was the one who pressed charges. Lauren couldn’t believe Michael got his mother off on a mistaken identity defense, but Michael admitted he was just that good. They all toasted to a happy Thanksgiving.
A Plan Revealed
At Lily’s (Christel Khalil), Mamie (Veronica Redd) talked about how happy she was that her family was together for the holiday. Nate told Devon (Bryton James) and Lily he was thankful they’d decided to give him a second chance, and he promised to do things right this time.
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) was there, and later, Abby showed up. As they talked, Devon and Lily wanted Mamie to give them some insight into Tucker’s plan for Chancellor-Winters, but she wasn’t very forthcoming.
Ultimately, Mamie admitted that the plan for her and Tucker was to own the company without Jill’s interference…for Devon’s sake. She asked them if they’d ever wondered what that might feel like to not have to answer to Jill.
Giving Thanks
At the Abbott mansion, Jack (Peter Bergman), Diane (Susan Walters), Traci (Beth Maitland), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and Kyle (Michael Mealor) welcomed Billy (Jason Thompson) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Chelsea planned to leave to spend the holiday with Connor and Anita.
Jack complained when Ashley left to meet Tucker for drinks. Later, Billy and Kyle had words over Billy’s job, and Kyle didn’t look too thrilled when his uncle left to see Chelsea off. They all visited, and Traci urged Jack to start the meal, but he’d wanted to wait for Ashley. Ultimately, Traci convinced him not to wait for their sister. Jack gave a speech about everything he was thankful for.
At the GCAC dining room, Tucker (Trevor St. John) ate a burger with Audra (Zuleyka Silver). He was full of all the negative things about Thanksgiving, and she seemed unimpressed. He quickly turned the talk to her feelings for Kyle, and she neither confirmed nor denied that she was falling for the Abbott heir.
After Tucker mentioned she deserved somebody like him but not him, she called him out for not being over Ashley. Audra predicted that Tucker would blow up his whole plan over Ashley. Shortly after that, the woman herself walked in, and Audra exited. Ashley tried to make nice with Tucker, but he remained wary. Even so, they had a drink together in the jazz lounge while her family celebrated Thanksgiving back home. She offered him a company they’d acquired together free and clear, and he agreed to the deal.
