The Y&R recap for Monday, November 7, 2022, brings a surprising kiss, recriminations for unwavering support, a plot uncovered, and so much more. You won’t want to miss a bit of what happened.

Y&R Recap Highlights

In this episode, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) couldn’t believe Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) still supports Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) updated each other on the state of their respective Diane digging, and later, Victor told Michael what he thinks Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) intends to do. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Diane took Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) to get checked out, while Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) return to work. Finally, Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) shared an unexpected kiss as Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) arrived home. Now let’s take a deeper dive into the episode.

Young and the Restless: All About Diane And Tucker

Summer and Kyle walked into the Abbott mansion, and Diane let them know that Harrison’s pediatrician was upstairs with him. They rushed to be with the little boy. Summer and Kyle took Harrison to the hospital for tests because the pediatrician thought the little boy could’ve gotten sick on their trip.

As they were leaving, Jack came home, and Diane tried to talk to Summer about the fact that she lied, but Summer noted that it wasn’t the time to talk about that. Harrison insisted that his “Di Di” come with him to the hospital. Diane said she would go as long as it was okay with Summer. Kyle suggested that Summer go to Marchetti and Diane could go with him. Jack offered Summer a ride back to work. Diane thanked her daughter-in-law.

Diane reassured Kyle after they returned from the hospital. She reminded her son that kids get sick all the time and that Harrison would get better soon. Kyle relayed how he’d had mono when he was 12, and ultimately he ended up in the hospital over it. He never wanted Harrison to go through that. Diane seemed devastated to learn her son had dealt with that. She worried that she and Kyle weren’t okay. Once again, she insisted that everything she did in Los Angeles, she did for him, but she had to come back a different person. Diane said her love for him and Harrison was the most real thing about her.

Kyle told Diane that he believed her. He blamed the men who took advantage of Diane. Kyle admitted that hearing Harrison call out for his Di Di is what really made it hit home for him. Kyle said whatever Diane did in Los Angeles, he was willing to let it go because it brought her back to him and Harrison. Diane was grateful, and she said she wished Summer felt the same way. Kyle promised to try to get Summer to see his point of view, and he warned Diane there better not be any more lies.

At Society, Lauren took Michael to task for supporting Diane even after her lies came to light. Michael said there could be gray areas and some context, but Lauren couldn’t understand it. Phyllis walked in and wondered why Michael kept supporting her too. They argued about whether Diane’s lies were enough for Michael to stop supporting Diane. Michael got a message from Victor, so he (happily) left Lauren and Phyllis.

Phyllis lamented that nobody listened to her sounding the alarm since Diane’s return. Lauren pointed out that she’d always listened to and supported Phyllis, and then they talked about how she, Nikki, and Ashley teaming up should be enough to convince anybody things were serious.

Phyllis talked about how Jack seemed to be softening toward Diane, but Lauren said that surely Jack wouldn’t fall for that. However, Phyllis said she thought he was, and then she suggested that Diane was back in Genoa City more for Jack than for Kyle. Lauren advised Phyllis to stop fighting, which shocked her. Phyllis didn’t appreciate her friend insinuating that she was unreasonable, but Lauren said she had to stop it for her own sanity.

At the ranch, Victor got updates from Nikki about what she learned about Diane and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John). She said she was certain Victor knew as much as she did, but he wanted his wife to indulge him. She apprised him of the situation, and she said that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) would use Tucker’s attention to try to get more details about what he was up to. Victor warned that Ashley should be careful, and Tucker likely had ulterior motives.

Nikki bemoaned worrying about Diane, and Victor offered to take over the investigation so Nikki could focus on more pleasant activities. However, Nikki said she couldn’t give it up. Victor proclaimed that if Diane affected Summer or Harrison’s lives, he would step in, and he declared that he’d find out what Tucker was doing.

Michael showed up, and Nikki left him with Victor. Michael reported that he’d uncovered a connection between Tucker and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). They ascertained that Tucker placed Audra at Chancellor-Winters so that he could make a move on the company. Victor said it seemed like Tucker wanted to take over the company and run it with Devon.

They also talked about Tucker and Diane’s connection, which Michael thought was innocuous, but Victor warned it meant Tucker was up to something. Victor explained his theory that Tucker wanted to take over both Chancellor-Winters and Jabot. He’d run the former with Devon and give the latter to Ashley. Michael expressed his disbelief, but Victor remained convinced.

Audra showed up at Tucker’s new room at The Grand Phoenix, and he wanted to know what was going on with Chancellor-Winters because he was eager to make a move. Audra explained the way things were going, and she said that Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) still wanted to proceed with the Initial Public Offering. Tucker revealed that he planned to turn brother against sister.

Y&R Recap: A Stolen Kiss

Devon sat at home alone, remembering all the times Neil supported him in his career throughout the years. Amid the heartbreaking flashbacks, Devon wondered if he was wrong about not giving Nate the same support Neil had given him.

Abby knocked on the door, and she and Dominic Six Names (River Ware) came in, brightening Devon’s mood. Abby brewed some tea and noted that she felt like she had two homes, the same as Dominic. The friends discussed their recent problems, and Devon thanked Abby for pointing out that Nate may have had a point where Neil was concerned. Devon admitted he didn’t support Nate the way Neil had supported him — not that it excused what Nate did.

Abby wanted to know what was negative about Devon holding onto Neil so firmly. She said it was a strength and not a weakness to keep his spirit alive. Abby also connected Devon’s experiences with Neil to her experiences with Brad Carlton (Don Diamont). Devon thanked her for understanding his heart.

Devon also thanked Abby for helping him through yet another hard time, and he called her mommy to Dominic. Devon ticked off all the times that Abby had been there for him, and Abby also sang Devon’s praises to their son. Devon said he’d never imagined he’d build a family in the way they did, he admitted it was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Devon put Dominic down for his nap, and Abby thanked him, but Devon said he never needed thanks for taking care of their son. Devon wanted Abby to talk about what was bugging her, and he suspected it had to do with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). Abby said she wished she’d understood Chance’s heart half as much as she understood his.

She dropped the bombshell that Chance didn’t come home the night after they’d had a huge soul-searching talk about their marriage. All he did was text her that he needed time to think, and Abby wondered if that was how her marriage would end. Devon didn’t think so, but Abby tearfully talked about their argument.

Devon asked some pointed questions, and Abby said perhaps Chance was right that he wasn’t giving her everything she needs and wants from a husband. Abby wondered if she was compatible with her husband, and she said they had a wall between them that both she and Chance knew was there.

Melissa Ordway, Bryton James "The Young and the Restless"

Abby said she wanted Chance to put her and Dominic first, and she said Chance saw work and family as equal, and work regularly took precedence over them. Abby admitted she wanted more. Devon told her she shouldn’t apologize for what she wanted, and neither she nor Chance was at fault. He said Chance was a fool for not putting them first and said he’d move heaven and earth for Abby and Dominic. Abby leaned forward and kissed Devon, and in the hallway outside, Amanda arrived home.
