The Y&R recap for Tuesday, November 22, 2022, brings confrontations, proposal fallout, two friends catching up, and so much more. You don’t want to miss a moment of this action-packed episode.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) put Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) on notice, while Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) clashes with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) caught up with Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) checked on Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) took Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) home, but that didn’t stop Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) from stopping by later. Now, let’s take a deeper look at what happened.
Jack went to Tucker’s hotel room to confront him over the news Diane spilled. They both agreed on Ashley’s brilliance, but Tucker warned Jack that he was no match for him without Ashley. Tucker insinuated that he and Ashley will be a team. One thing Tucker didn’t do is confirm that he isn’t coming for Jabot — he said he wanted Jack to keep sweating.
Diane confronted Ashley about what she’s done to try to get her out of town. Ashley wasn’t willing to take Diane’s criticisms without firing back, and she brought up Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and how he just wanted a normal mom. Ashley warned Diane that she had no future, especially when Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) shows up.
Diane insisted that Ashley made up a story about Diane helping put Jeremy away. Ashley said it was the truth, though. Diane reiterated all the things she does in Genoa City now, and she said that if Jeremy caused her issues, it’d be an Abbott family issue, too — and Ashley would be to blame. Ashley was disgusted by Diane using her own grandson as a human shield, and she warned Diane to run before it was too late.
Diane complained that Ashley was putting everyone in danger by trying to railroad her out of town. Ashley said Diane was the problem, working with Tucker. Diane wanted to know if Ashley knew why Tucker stopped working with her, and Diane said that she’d refused to give Tucker details on Jabot’s financials. Diane insisted that Tucker was using Ashley. Jack walked in and yelled at his sister and Diane to stop arguing in the house.
Diane insisted that she just wanted to protect HER family, and she warned Ashley to listen to her. Diane declared that she wasn’t the enemy, and she told Ashley to open her eyes. Jack agreed with Diane, and she declared she’d be the best ally that Ashley and Jack could have against Tucker.
Billy and Chelsea caught up over drinks at Crimson Lights. She updated him about how Adam was so good with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Billy was surprised, but he was also happy to hear that it had gone well. She said she was about to go upstairs to be with Connor, and Billy left.
Later, Nick showed up, and he talked with Chelsea a bit. She updated him on how much she and Connor loved living upstairs, and then she left to take some pastries up to her son.
At Society, Lily and Daniel caught up. They talked about old times, but then talk turned to the present. He complimented Lily on her job as Chief Executive Officer at Chancellor-Winters. Daniel admitted that he planned to change directions, and he turned the conversation back to her. He expressed his surprise that she and Billy were a couple, and Lily gave him some details about working with Billy and also balancing a personal relationship.
Billy walked into Society, and he was surprised to see Daniel. Billy wanted to know how long Daniel was staying in town, and it was at least through the holidays, if not longer. Lucy and Heather were in Portugal, which explained why they weren’t with Daniel. He started to leave, but then Daniel asked if he could run his newest idea by both Billy and Lily, and she said she’d have her assistant set something up.
Daniel left, and Lily didn’t seem thrilled to be there with Billy. He called Daniel his seat filler, keeping Lily entertained while she was gone. Talk turned to Thanksgiving plans, and they easily agreed to help Sharon at Crimson Lights, have a meal at the Abbotts, and go to Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) for dessert. Billy said he wanted to talk about friends and family, and Lily wondered if it had something to do with Chelsea.
Billy mentioned that he wanted to invite Chelsea and Connor, but Lily wasn’t happy at all. He just wanted Chelsea to have the option. She suggested that they just see how things go, and Billy reluctantly agreed.
As Nick was leaving Crimson Lights, he saw Daniel, and he was thrilled to see him. Nick declared that it’d be an awesome holiday because Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis would be thrilled.
At Glam Club, Adam pleaded his case to Sally, and she listened to him a bit. However, she didn’t appreciate that he’d drunkenly sprung a proposal on her like that. She also didn’t think that they made sense, even though Adam insisted that they did. Ultimately, she tried to leave, and Adam tried to keep her there by grabbing her, but Nick stepped in, warning his brother not to grab Sally again.
Ultimately, Sally spoke up, and she said she listened to Adam, but she asked him to do something for her — stop. Nick advised Adam to let it go. Nick and Sally returned to her hotel room, and she told him Adam had proposed. As they hugged goodbye, Sally declared she liked them together, and Nick agreed. He had to go home to Christian, so he left.
Adam knocked on Sally’s door and barged in. He tried to get himself a drink, but she said that he’d had enough. Sally wanted to know why he was there, and Adam said they were magic together. He simply couldn’t imagine why she’d rob herself of their magic. He pleaded his case to Sally, calling her perfect, and she blamed that on Adam being drunk. He admitted she was complicated and flawed like a wildfire — a beautiful mess. Adam said he knew Sally wouldn’t show that side to Nick. Then, he said that Sally was just with Nick to hurt him and that for Nick it was only about the sex.
Sally wasn’t at all flattered. She didn’t appreciate Adam saying that Nick and Sally were using each other, but he said it was the truth. Adam declared that Nick would never make her happy and he’d never treat her the way she should be treated. Again, he said that Nick would always love Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). Then, he brought up how Nick hadn’t been able to turn Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) into Sharon, and he’d failed with Chelsea too.
He insinuated that something happened with Chelsea, and Sally picked up on it. He played it off that Chelsea was just struggling, and then he reminded her that he was drunk. Even so, Sally said what Adam said drunk might mean more than what he said when he was sober. Adam asked Sally to pay attention to their connection since that was what was most important. Adam insisted that his proposal was from the heart, and he said he loved her as he left.
