The Y&R recap for Wednesday, December 21, 2022, had a mom bringing out her claws on her son’s ex, a sister fed up with her brother’s blame, couples making Christmas plans, and so much more.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) refused to fall for Audra Charles’s (Zuleyka Silver) charms, and she didn’t like Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) flirting with her son’s ex either. Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) and Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) made plans for Christmas. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) seemed to fall for Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) lies. Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) was sad she was fighting with her mom, and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) tried to talk her out of her blues while Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) appeared to strike out with Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). Now let’s dive deeper into what happened.
Ashley wondered why Tucker needed multiple showers in a day. He invited her to join him in the shower, but Ashley said she wanted to go after his crass invitation. Tucker immediately apologized and invited her in for a drink. Of course, he was hot and sweaty, so Ashley declined. Even so, he talked her into meeting him in the bar.
All the while, Audra hid in the bathroom, and she came out when the coast was clear with some snarky words. She declined to strike out on her own and would keep her lot with Tucker’s. He promised to get Audra the reward she deserved.
Later, Sharon had no love for Audra when she showed up at Crimson Lights. The younger lady tried to kiss up to her, but Sharon wasn’t charmed by the woman who’d hurt Noah. Sharon wondered if Audra’s job was permanent or temporary, and Audra realized Sharon wanted to know if she was in town permanently.
Audra wondered if Sharon was asking for Noah or herself. Sharon said Noah would never have her do that, and Audra admitted that she didn’t have solid plans about her job status. Sharon kept it real and told Audra how hard the breakup at been on Noah, and she pointed out that Allie had been the one to help bring him out of his funk. Audra told Sharon that Noah wanted nothing to do with her.
An excited Chance walked in, interrupting her talk with Audra. He’d solved a big case about somebody stealing from the mall during the holidays. It turns out it was one of the people working as Santa’s elf during the season. Talk turned to Nina Webster (Tricia Cast), and Chance admitted that he was not going to see his mom this year, and he wasn’t too upset. He wondered how much time he’d get with Dominic, though.
Chance planned to do some paperwork during the holidays, which Sharon didn’t seem too convinced was great. She invited her late husband’s partner to volunteer with her for Christmas. A call from Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) took Sharon away so Chance turned around and chatted with Audra. She called him Grinchy for arresting an elf, but Chance thought the thief was the Grinch.
Sharon interrupted their light-hearted flirting to ask about refills. Chance excused himself and went to talk to Sharon about Faith, and she said it was tough to have her daughter so far away. She promised Chance that he and Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) would learn to co-parent. He thanked Sharon for her coffee drinks and advice. She admitted that she was grateful for every day and that she thought everybody could take their pain and grow from it and learn to love better.
Kyle and Summer began to get Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) interested in their big Christmas adventure. They decided to tell everybody that they were going on a Santa tracking trip. They vowed to stick to their story and return in time for Christmas dinner. Of course, that didn’t stop Kyle from worrying about Jack’s part in the whole thing.
The couple continued packing up for their trip, including a bundle of Mrs. Martinez’s cookies and lots of presents. After they worried about Jack taking so long, Summer talked Kyle into opening an early Christmas present. It was a make-your-own ornament kit for Kyle to make with Harrison, and Kyle loved it. Kyle gave Summer an “H” for her charm bracelet in honor of Harrison, and she cried because she and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) are fighting. Kyle said he’d ensure she had the perfect Christmas.
Jack approached Jeremy’s hotel room with a briefcase. Jeremy answered the door, and neither man was too pleased to see the other. Jeremy wondered what was in the briefcase, so Jack opened it up, telling Jeremy that he had $500,000, which was double what Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) had of Jeremy’s stash when he was arrested. Jeremy tried to say he’d have turned it into much more in six years, but Jack told him to take it or leave it.
Jeremy wasn’t at all interested in Jack’s money, though, because it wasn’t worth the amount of time he spent in prison. Jack relented and told Jeremy to name his price. Jeremy wondered if Jack was involved with Diane, but he said he was fighting for his and Diane’s son and grandson. Jeremy admitted that he wanted to negotiate, but only with Diane. Jeremy insisted that Jack take him to Diane.
Jeremy told Jack to take his briefcase and leave if Jack wasn’t going to take him to see Diane. Jeremy insisted that he only wanted to speak to Diane one last time, and Jack agreed because he was tired of the whole mess. Jack admitted he knew where they could find Diane. Jack reminded Jeremy that once he took him to Diane, Jeremy would take his money and leave.
Noah and Allie met at Glam Club. She was excited about how great the club was doing, and Noah gave her lots of credit. He wanted to know what was on Allie’s mind, though. After some back and forth, Allie admitted that she didn’t like Audra kissing him even if it was one-sided.
Ashley showed up, and she apologized that she’d be meeting Tucker there soon. After Noah went to get a table ready for her, Ashley wondered if Allie was happy with Noah, and Allie said she was.
Later, Noah and Allie talked about the fun holiday drink names, and he admitted that his dad had done that at the Underground. He talked about maybe dedicating a booth or a plaque to Allie, but she didn’t want that type of attention. Allie told Noah that she felt like he was trying to prove to her that he only had eyes for her, and he said she could be right. Allie let her boyfriend know that it wasn’t necessary because she knew he only wanted to be with her. The two also worked out their Christmas plans, which consisted a bit of both their families.
Tucker showed up, and he was disgusted by Ashley’s holiday-themed drink. He took all the credit for introducing Allie to the Abbotts. However, Ashley told him her grand niece’s introduction could’ve been handled better. Talk turned to Ashley’s argument with Jack. Tucker noted that Diane had really gotten her claws into Jack, and Ashley complained that her brother kept putting all the blame on her.
Tucker took that opportunity to tell Ashley to leave her brother behind but Ashley continued to rant about Diane’s manipulations. Tucker pointed out that Jack made his loyalty to Diane clear, so he advised Ashley to distance herself from Jack because he didn’t deserve her loyalty.
