Y&R Recap For December 19: Adam Asks Victor For A Big Favor

The Y&R recap for Monday, December 19, 2022, brings unexpected news, favors asked, holiday cheer, and so much more as Genoa City readies for Christmas.

Y&R Recap Highlights

Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) helped Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) decorate Crimson Lights for Christmas, and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) stopped by. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) made amends with Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson). Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) asked Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for a favor, and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) hoped it was a new beginning for them all. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) talked about her past and their very near future. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.

Young and the Restless: New Hope

At Crimson Lights, Mariah and Tessa gave Sharon a hard time about her old Christmas decorations. The newlyweds argued a bit over the tree topper, and then they talked a bit about Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and her big Christmas European vacation, which meant she wouldn’t be home for the holidays.

Noah showed up at the coffee shop, and he gave the decorations his seal of approval. As they talked, Tessa spilled the news that they had another birth mom to talk to. Mariah wasn’t thrilled that her wife spilled the beans because she didn’t want to get everyone’s hopes up. Sharon reassured them and pointed out that Mariah didn’t want to get her own hopes up, which she admitted was true. Sharon thanked Tessa for including her in their news, though, because the idea of a new baby in the family made the holiday season that much brighter for the family.

Upstairs at Chelsea’s, Chloe popped in with some food and gifts. She said she needed a break from her kids, so she and Chelsea enjoyed the pastry Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) had made. Chelsea appreciated their girl time, and she was happy that their whole discussion wasn’t just about her mental health. Even so, Chelsea let Chloe know that she’d been making amends. Chelsea made amends to Chloe for her recent blaming of Chloe for everything that went wrong when they last worked together.

Y&R Recap: The Truth

Earlier at Glam Club, Noah prepared for a holiday party, and Nick walked in. Sally showed up just as Nick was complimenting his dad’s wardrobe choices. Noah ended up smiling when Sally made a joke at Nick’s expense, and Nick was surprised his girlfriend had gotten his son to grin. They toasted to going slow.

Nick and Sally ended up at her hotel. They talked about holiday plans, and she said he didn’t need to invite her to his big family celebration. He admitted that Victor had a dossier made about all her misdeeds in Los Angeles. She wasn’t surprised he had her investigated, but Nick admitted that he hadn’t read the report. Sally said she wished he had so he’d know everything.

She admitted she’d faked a terminal illness to try to keep a guy, and Nick told her to stop because he didn’t want to hear any more about it. She thought Nick stopped her because her past was so horrifying. Nick said he wanted to know more things like her childhood memories and whether or not she liked sports. After all, Nick, along with the rest of the people in Genoa City, had done things that were just as bad. He was team second chance for everybody, and he knew who Sally was now.

They ended up in bed — so much for taking it slow. Sally said she didn’t mind being alone for Christmas, but Nick decided he wanted to change his plans for Sally. He compromised, saying he’d spend a bit of time with his family and make sure Christian Newman was happy, and then they’d spend time together, which she loved.

Y&R Recap: Family

Adam showed up at the ranch, and Victor was surprised to see his youngest son. Victor wanted to know what had changed since Adam declared he didn’t want anything to do with the Newmans. Adam said he wanted to bring Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) to the Newman family gathering, and Victor happily welcomed them. Of course, when Adam asked if he could bring Chelsea, Victor wasn’t quite as magnanimous.

Adam said Chelsea didn’t have any ulterior motives, and he called out Victor on the bad things he’d done to Connor’s mom in the past. Victor warned Adam that he was asking a favor and to watch his tone, and Victor agreed to let Chelsea come.

Chloe and Chelsea went downstairs to Crimson Lights and stopped in for a drink. Chloe noted how interesting it was that Chelsea and Sharon were so close. Adam called, and he said Connor wanted to stay at the ranch and decorate the barn for the horses. Chelsea agreed to allow their son to stay.

Sharon asked Chelsea to taste a new drink, and she liked it. Then, she worried Chloe and Sharon a bit by announcing she wanted to get some fresh air by taking a walk alone. As singers caroled outside, Chelsea was surprised to see Adam. He joined her, and she said she was doing fine, but Adam revealed he was feeling lonely.

They discussed Christmas, and he let Chelsea know that he hadn’t updated Victor or Nikki about what had happened with her. She appreciated that. Adam promised to be Chelsea’s wingman at the Newman family gathering, and Chelsea thanked him again. They even discussed Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) involvement in her recovery, and Adam admitted that nothing but her recovery mattered. He expressed that Chelsea had inspired him.

Chelsea brought up Adam and his breakup with Sally. He said he had moments of self-pity, but he wanted to focus on what he had — a wonderful son who had a caring mother. He declared they should focus on their family for the holiday.

Nikki updated Victor on Connor’s barn decorating, and she noted that Adam’s visit might have troubled him. He admitted that it made him more curious since Adam wanted to reconnect with his family. Victor let Nikki know that Adam wanted to bring Chelsea along with Connor to their family gathering.

Nikki told Victor that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) had mentioned Chelsea was in a bad place. They talked about how both Connor and Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) had grown closer since finding out they were biological brothers. Nikki noted that Adam returning to the family fold would make Victor happy, but he said it was all up to Adam. They both hoped that Adam choosing to celebrate Christmas with them was a good first step.
