The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, November 17, 2023, brings Claire’s Aunt Jordan on the scene with a warning.

Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Chance got pressure from Nina and Abby to get a new profession while Sharon seemed uncomfortable. Summer wasn’t pleased to learn Daniel hired Sally to decorate his place. Heather and Lucy showed up, and Heather told Daniel she loves who he is now. Also, Aunt Mamie and Nate push Devon, Lily, and Jill to rehire him at Chancellor-Winters. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.

Off The Wagon

Claire (Hayley Erin) spoke to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) as the older woman remained passed out. She told Nikki how she’d waited for this Thanksgiving “family reunion” for her whole life. Claire also urged Nikki to have sweet dreams while she still could because soon, everybody would arrive.

Later, Nikki woke up, and she spied a silver platter on her bed. She opened it and saw a partially used bottle of vodka. Nikki quickly put the dome back on the platter and pulled out her IV. After a while, she realized she felt bad, as if she’d been drinking, so she checked the IV, realizing, to her horror, it had alcohol in it.

Downstairs, Claire looked in the mirror, seeming to contemplate things. Her Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) walked in, warning her not to get soft on her. After all, the two had been preparing for the situation for so long.

Sparks Fly

Summer (Allison Lanier) made fun of Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) bachelor pad. As they talked, he reluctantly told her that he’d hired Sally to decorate it, which didn’t please his sister. Heather (Vail Bloom) and Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) showed up, and Summer left.

As Lucy checked out her bedroom, Heather wondered why Summer seemed to worry about her and Daniel’s status. She informed her ex that she loved the man he’d become, and things were a bit awkward.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon (Sharon Case) caught up with Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks). They updated her on Aria’s hearing aids, and Chance (Conner Floyd) walked in. Soon after, Nina (Tricia Cast) showed up. She pressured her son to change jobs, which made Sharon uncomfortable and caused Mariah to snark before she and Tessa left.

Later, Nina, Sharon, and Chance went to Society, and Nina invited Abby (Melissa Ordway) to join them for breakfast. It put her on the spot by asking if, as Dominic’s mom, she wanted Chance to get a safer job. Abby said she fully supported Chance doing something less risky.

Summer walked in, and both Sharon and Abby noticed the chemistry between her and Chance as she flirted with him a bit. Later, Abby told Summer she’d noticed the situation.

Back at Crimson Lights, after Nina left, Sharon and Chance had a moment alone. She urged her boyfriend not to be pressured into making a big life change.

Family Matters

At Lily’s (Christel Khalil), she, Jill (Jess Walton), and Devon (Bryton James) wanted to know why Nate (Sean Dominic) and Mamie (Veronica Redd) stopped by. Mamie promised Jill it wasn’t about business…instead, she was there about family.

Eventually, Nate told them the whole sordid tale of Victor’s faked illness and getting fired from Newman Enterprises. Devon and Lily both asked him pointed questions about the whole situation despite Nate maintaining that he’d had no ulterior motives.

Ultimately, Nate told Jill, Lily, and Devon he wanted to return to Chancellor-Winters. He explained that he’d learned his lesson and he really hoped to reunite their family both personally and professionally. Jill wondered why she should rehire him after what he’d done, though.
