The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, September 1, 2023, brings a big wake-up call for Jack in the wake of Ashley’s brush with death.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Also in this episode, Summer reveals Audra and Kyle’s affair to Nikki. Nate lets Audra and Kyle know Nikki is in charge at Newman Media. Nikki demands Audra stop seeing Kyle. Finally, Billy sees the world from Adam’s eyes, and it’s not pretty. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: Wake-Up Call
At her suite, Jack (Peter Bergman) let Ashley (Eileen Davidson) know how happy he was that she didn’t die. He was grateful to God and Diane (Susan Walters) for saving his sister. He urged her to please bury the hatchet and come back to Jabot, where she belongs.
Ashley wondered if Jack could accept Tucker as her husband, and he agreed to try. She also let her brother know she’d been trying to save his life when it came to Diane. However, now she felt that Diane wouldn’t literally kill Jack, and she thought the postnup was actually legitimate. Ashley promised to give Diane the benefit of the doubt.
Ashley couldn’t assure Jack that she wasn’t going to start a new company. She had to think. In the end, all that mattered to Jack was that they were siblings. He let her know she meant the world to him.
After her brother left, Ashley flashed back to a moment with her dad where he said how worried he was about her and Jack. John (Jerry Douglas) said he was counting on her to make the first move. She texted Tucker to meet her at the airport so they could go to Paris. She needed time to figure things out.
Young and the Restless Recap: A New Boss
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Summer (Allison Lanier) caught up over a cup of coffee on the Crimson Lights patio. Summer let her grandma know that she was getting divorced and shocked her by revealing that Kyle and Audra were sleeping together. Nikki wanted to take Audra down a notch, but Summer urged her not to. However, in the end, Summer admitted to her grandma that she wouldn’t mind seeing Audra taken down a notch.
At the GCAC, Nate (Sean Dominic) interrupted Audra (Zuleyka Charles) and Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) drinks. He wanted to speak with Audra alone, but she said Kyle should be there too, so Nate let them know big changes were happening at Newman Media.
Later, Kyle worried that Nikki would have it in for him since he and Summer were getting divorced. He warned Nate and Audra to count on Nikki to find out that he and Audra were involved, and he predicted things would get ugly. They urged Kyle not to worry about it and to see how things played out.
Kyle left, and Nate warned Audra that Kyle probably wouldn’t survive the situation, but Audra explained she and Kyle were just having fun. However, Nate wasn’t so sure Kyle felt that way.
Later, Audra met Nikki at the ranch. While Audra thought they were there for business, Nikki wanted to know what Audra was doing with Kyle. Audra talked him up as an employee, and Nikki called her out on being coy. Nikki also reminded Audra she’d broken Noah’s heart, too.
Nikki let Audra know her instincts said to get rid of the younger woman. However, Nikki decided to give Audra a chance — as long as she left Kyle alone.
Audra tried to say she didn’t feel comfortable discussing her private life with her new boss. Nikki realized Nate must’ve told her about Victor’s decision.
Kyle ran into Summer at Chancellor Park. They had an awkward conversation about Harrison and their respective workplaces. Summer told Kyle that she’d asked Heather to help her with the divorce. Kyle said he was sure it was for the best, and she agreed.
Y&R Recap: Disatisfaction
At the jazz club bar, Billy (Jason Thompson) flashed back to his argument with Jack. Adam joined him, and they clashed as usual. Later, Billy told Adam (Mark Grossman) that he could see life through his eyes. Adam thought it was about time that Billy recognized the similarities between them. Of course, Adam got in some digs, and so did Billy.
Ultimately, Billy asked Adam about the dirt he had on Tucker. However, Adam said he might need that information for himself, and Billy wasn’t thrilled Adam had teased him about it, so he split.
Later, Nate joined Adam at the bar, and Adam snarked at him about being the Newman “golden boy.”
Billy went to Crimson Lights, and Jack was there. Jack wanted to talk, but Billy didn’t. However, Jack updated his brother about how well things had gone with Ashley, but Billy didn’t believe what Ashley had said.
