The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, August 29, 2023, brings a struggle for Ashley when the woman she hates most in the world, Diane, saves her life.

Young and the Restless: Live Saver
At the Abbott mansion, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Billy (Jason Thompson) wondered why they hadn’t heard from Ashley (Eileen Davidson). As they talked, Tucker (Trevor St. John) walked in, claiming he and Ashley had made plans to have their things moved out next week.
Tucker promised he and Ashley were truly moving on. Later, he told Jack that Billy was the real threat since he’d been ready to sell out Jack to run Jabot himself. Billy accused Tucker of lying, but Tucker denied it. Jack wondered why he’d care either way, and Tucker insisted he just wanted to do Jack a solid.

After Tucker left, Jack and Billy went back and forth about a potential kernel of truth in what their new brother-in-law had said. After Billy left, Tucker returned, and he and Jack argued some more. Tucker warned Jack not to cross him.
At Society, Abby (Melissa Ordway) wondered if her mom was really ready to be out at Jabot. Ashley assured her daughter she planned to move on, and Diane (Susan Walters) walked by and said, “Thank God.”
Ashley and Diane snarked back and forth as Abby looked on, concerned. Abby left, and as Ashley tried to explain she was moving on, she began choking on some food. Diane gave Ashley the Heimlich Maneuver, saving her life. She urged Ashley to get medical care, but Ashley refused. Diane insisted on driving Ashley to the GCAC.
Tucker was stunned to see Diane bring Ashley home, but his new wife just wanted to go upstairs.
Back at the Abbott mansion, Jack called Billy to clear the air and left a message. Diane walked in and told Jack she’d saved his sister’s life. An annoyed Billy saw Jack’s message as he sat in the jazz club, and deleted it without listening.
In their suite, Ashley updated Tucker about Diane saving her life when she choked on the grape. Ashley didn’t know what to do with the fact that the woman she hated more than anyone saved her life.
Young and the Restless Recap: A Specialist
Devon (Bryton James) offered to answer all of Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) questions about hearing loss. He reassured the new mothers how amazing they were. Of course, Devon’s experience was different since he was older when he lost his hearing.
Dr. George (Mattilyn Rochester Kravitz) showed up at Mariah and Tessa’s house, and Devon remembered her from his previous care team. Later, the specialist described the tests that she performed on Aria, and she had results that suggested hearing loss connected to the auditory nerve deep in the ear. The good news is the situation was treatable, but there wasn’t a cure.
As they spoke with the doctor, Mariah and Tessa asked if they’d done anything wrong. However, Dr. George said that Aria’s condition was likely inherited, so they said they’d get in touch with the baby’s biological mom. The first step was to find a hearing aid for the baby.
At the park, Abby and Dominic met up with Devon. He updated Abby about Aria’s hearing loss. As they talked, Devon recalled moments with Neil (Kristoff St. John) when he dealt with losing his hearing. Neil and others in his life learned American Sign Language to communicate with him. Abby and Devon vowed to be there for their friends.
Already on it, Abby and Devon showed up with food for Mariah and Tessa. The moms updated their friends on Aria’s condition. Later, Tessa worried she did something wrong, but Mariah told her wife to stop worrying. All they could do was plan for Aria’s future.
