The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, December 1, 2023, brings Devon realizing that Abby is more like Victor than he realized.

Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Kyle and Billy sparred. Later, Kyle was frustrated by Jack’s happiness over working together. Chance told Sharon he made a big decision, and Chelsea saw the way Summer reacted to Chance’s news. Tucker tried to lure Audra back into his web using sex, and later, he and Ashley talked. Now let’s dig deeper into what happened.

Ruthless…Junior

At Society, Devon (Bryton James) told Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) that he had no intention of playing games with Tucker (Reread Ashley’s request that Devon fake forgiveness with Tucker here). He’d already made his feelings clear, and Devon wasn’t about to go back on that.

After Ashley left, Abby told Devon she thought they should fight fire with fire when it came to Tucker. Devon noted his father wasn’t stupid, though, and he’d see through his sudden change of heart.

They argued, and while Abby could see Devon’s point of view, she vowed to do whatever it took to protect her family. In fact, she indicated she’d be willing to be as dirty as she needed to protect him and Dominic, and that concerned Devon. He didn’t really want to go head-to-head with Tucker.

Instead, Abby suggested that Devon give her a spot at Chancellor-Winters to show Tucker she was part of the fight. Again, Devon wasn’t entirely convinced.

Work Woes

Kyle (Michael Mealor) went home and found Billy (Jason Thompson) and Jack (Peter Bergman) working. Jack got a call, and Billy gave Kyle a hard time about where he’d been on his first day back (read about their last confrontation here).

Kyle tried to reassure Billy that he wasn’t gunning for his job, but Billy wasn’t convinced. He told his nephew that his gut was telling him something wasn’t right. Billy said Kyle needed to rethink his priorities, and Kyle told his uncle that he looked awfully insecure.

Summer walked in, and Kyle wasn’t thrilled when she also wanted to know where he’d been. When Billy walked away, Kyle told Summer he was having some family drama. She assumed that Kyle still wanted to return to Jabot as Co-CEO, which offended Kyle.

As they talked, Kyle admitted he regretted leaving Jabot for Marchetti. Summer wondered if things would’ve been different if they’d stayed in Milan, and Kyle said they would’ve.

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) showed up for work, and Summer suggested they go to Crimson Lights. Later, Jack let Kyle know he was thrilled to work alongside him, and Kyle somewhat bitterly reminded his dad it wasn’t his first time with the family company.

Chance Makes A Big Change

At Crimson Lights, Chance (Conner Floyd) told Sharon (Sharon Case) he’d decided to step down as chief of police. Although she was surprised, she admitted she was glad since he’d been shot. Chance said he couldn’t keep putting his loved ones through the worry.

As for what came next, Chance admitted he was considering Jill’s offer (remember when she offered him a spot at Chancellor-Winters), but he hadn’t quite made a decision. Sharon suggested they celebrate, and Chance liked that idea.

Chelsea and Summer showed up, and Chance let them know he was resigning. Summer was glad to hear that news. Their mild flirtation didn’t escape Sharon, and she stared at Summer.

On the patio, Summer complimented Chelsea on her work, and after they talked for a while, Chelsea brought up Summer’s obvious connection to Chance. Summer tried to play it down, but she ultimately admitted she liked him. Even so, Summer wasn’t interested in being the other woman.

A Connection…or Not

At the GCAC, Tucker (Trevor St. John) visited Audra (Zuleyka Silver). He indicated he was concerned about Kyle’s ulterior motives for asking questions. Audra warned him that he was underestimating Kyle.

Tucker didn’t like that Audra seemed to be falling for Kyle. He told her Kyle should be something they used and discarded, but Audra felt Tucker’s revenge plans clouded his judgment.

Tucker and Audra played a game of cat and mouse, and she revealed she’d leave if he no longer served her purposes. Audra leaned forward, and she and Tucker made out on the couch.

Later, Tucker walked downstairs and saw Ashley. She accused him of being hostile, but he played it off. They sat together at the bar and talked, noting that their apologies really hadn’t changed a thing between them.

Ashley informed Tucker that she’d talked with Devon, but it didn’t go well. Despite that, Ashley wasn’t ready to give up on reuniting Tucker with his son. She explained that she talked to Devon about him and it didn’t go well.

Upstairs, Audra called Kyle and ordered him to come see her immediately.
