Also in this episode, Kyle goes for more with Audra and she surprises him with an offer, Sally wants to be alone and gets her wish, Nick seeks out advice from Sharon, while Adam stews in his own memories. Now let’s dig a little deeper into this episode.
At Society, Tucker (Trevor St. John) wanted to toast their new venture with Ashley (Eileen Davidson), thrilled with their press release. Ashley wished she could see her brother’s face when he read it. Tucker did an impression of Jack’s (Peter Bergman) reaction, making Ashley laugh. She asked him their next steps and he figured Jack would offer her more at Jabot, maybe even fire Billy or give her John’s office.

At the Abbott mansion, Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack were worried about Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) marriage when Jack got the press release. He fumed in astonishment. Diane thought it couldn’t be real, but Jack made a call and found out it was legit. Diane blamed herself, and Jack said no — it’s Tucker’s fault. The two headed to Society and found Ashley with Tucker. Jack wanted to speak with Tucker but Ashley said she make her own decisions. No matter, Tucker was willing to talk to his future brother-in-law.
Alone, Diane asked Ashley if she was sure she wanted to do this. Ashley said a week ago she’d have told Diane to dump Jack and leave but now she wants to make a go of her company and knows Diane’s failure is inevitable so she’ll wait and watch. Outside, Jack let Tucker have it and told him if he cared about Ashley, he’d leave and let her stay at Jabot. Tucker told Jack Jabot is just a company — that family was everything to John. He should wish Ashley well if he cared about her. He accused Jack of being scared to go toe-to-toe with Ashley. As an upset Diane and Jack left, Tucker and Ashley celebrated.
Kyle spotted Audra (Zuleyka Silver) in the dining room at the Athletic Club and joined her, complimenting her earrings. She thanked him for those and the flowers. She let him know Summer (Allison Lanier) saw, and she wondered if it was to make her jealous. Kyle told her Summer didn’t factor in at all. She admitted pretty things make her happy and suggested he come up to see her flowers. He said he’d like that.
Audra made it clear that while it’s great he feels no need to hide, she wants to keep her private life private, so she wanted them to be discreet. She headed upstairs and Kyle waited a bit of time to follow. They slept together and then talk turned to business. He warned her about the Newmans. She said she needed a right-hand man and asked if he was interested. He liked the idea of trying to crush Adam but he was worried about his family.
A seemingly distraught Adam (Mark Grossman) turned up at Crimson Lights. Sharon (Sharon Case) took his coffee order and tried to make small talk. She mentioned Aria but then quickly changed the subject to Connor (Judah Mackey), figuring he’d love camping. Adam said he’s throwing himself into sports camp, and he plans to throw himself into something too. When Sharon inquired, Adam thanked her for the drink and left, worrying Sharon.
Adam went to The Jazz Club with his laptop, where he recalled Nick (Joshua Morrow) telling him to respect Sally’s (Courtney Hope) wishes and stay away from her. Adam also recalled trying to reach out to Sally, sending her that letter, as he tried but failed to concentrate on what he was writing on his laptop.
Nick brought a care package of hot sauces for a thrilled Sally. She wasn’t thrilled to hear Victor (Eric Braeden) offered him a job working with Adam and started to spiral over Victor’s manipulations. She didn’t want to have anything to do with Adam and didn’t want Nick to either but she realized how that sounded and backed off. She made it clear she didn’t want Adam to be a part of her life anymore. Nick tried to change the subject but Sally just wanted him to go. Once alone, she thought back to Adam’s letter.
Nick turned up at Crimson Lights and chatted with Sharon. Talk turned to Adam and he asked what she thought about Victor’s request. She said only he and Adam could decide but as they spoke, she realized he wants to do it.
