The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, February 16, 2023, brings Tucker McCall making Victoria Newman a surprising offer.
In addition to that, Victoria got the lowdown on Nate’s relationship, and Elena got frustrated when her boyfriend wouldn’t commit to taking a vacation. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Allie talked shop, which gave the older woman an idea, and Heather let Daniel know Lucy was in Genoa City. Now let’s dig deeper into what went down.
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nate (Sean Dominic) ran into each other at Society, so they enjoyed a drink at the bar. Victoria approved of his choice — but then, she approved of lots of things about him. Victoria quickly shifted talk to his relationship with Elena (Brytni Sarpy). Did they work out their relationship problems?
Nate let his boss know that Elena chose to be supportive, and he chose not to bring work home. He tried to turn the talk to work, but Victoria noted it was wise not to tell a significant other every detail, and they flashed back to the kiss. Ultimately, Nate said Elena accepted that he was happy at Newman, and Victoria noted it looked like he’d found the sweet spot in a work-life balance, but he said he hadn’t.
Victoria didn’t seem too sad to hear that Nate and Elena were out of sync. Then, she brought up Audra and how well Nate was exploiting her relationship with Tucker. Of course, Tucker walked up as they talked, but it wasn’t clear if he’d overheard. Nate’s food arrived, and he left.
Tucker stayed, and he wanted to discuss his plans to sell McCall Unlimited. He wanted to cash out and move on and Victoria seemed intrigued.

At home, Nate went on and on about how great the meeting with Victor was, and Elena seemed less than thrilled to hear how incredible it all was for him. Eventually, Nate asked her how her day had been, and she said it was exhausting. She suggested a break of a week or two and asked Nate to take a vacation. He said they would soon but didn’t have a concrete date to give her since he’d just started his new job. Elena was frustrated that Nate wouldn’t set a date, and she eventually left to get ready for bed.
Earlier, Ashley took Tucker (Trevor St. John) to task, accusing him of manipulating her instead of telling the truth. Tucker vowed to prove her wrong, though. He asked Ashley for a few days, but she didn’t know why he thought that she would because he seemed to be working an angle.
Tucker insisted he was at a turning point, but Ashley let him know that she didn’t believe him and that there wasn’t anything between them. He said he was willing to strip away everything to begin again with her, but Ashley wouldn’t make any promises, and she left.
At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) wondered why Jeremy (James Hyde) wasn’t in jail, and he explained that he’d been set up by Jack and Diane. Jeremy merely returned to town to collect the things he’d left, but Phyllis didn’t buy it. She told him he was all bark and no bite.
Jeremy let Phyllis know that when he looked at her, he saw a woman who’d reached her breaking point, and he pointed out she’d taken a risk calling him to run Diane out of town. Tucker walked up and greeted Jeremy happily. Jeremy insisted that he hadn’t committed any crime, and Tucker snarked back to him before he walked away.
Phyllis tried to leave, but Jeremy followed her and said they seemed to have similar interests. She didn’t want to talk, but Jeremy suggested they discuss their mutual enemy — Diane — out of the public eye. However, Phyllis didn’t want to because people who got involved with Jeremy regretted it, but he said not people like her. He guaranteed that Diane was going down, and that got Phyllis’s interest. He offered to let Phyllis be involved in his plans.
Ashley showed up at the Abbott mansion, and she saw Allie (Kelsey Wang). Her niece wanted to know how long she planned to stay, but Ashley wasn’t sure anymore, and she flashed back to conversations with Tucker. Ashley wanted to hear about her niece’s life instead of talking about hers. Allie was full of details about her new permanent position at Jabot.
Allie realized something was obviously wrong with Ashley, and she encouraged her aunt to open up to her. However, Ashley talked about work, and Allie enthusiastically joined in. They bonded over their love of making beauty products. Ultimately, Ashley related their chemistry discussion back to personal relationships, and it gave Ashley an idea.
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) couldn’t believe Heather (Vail Bloom) had fallen in love with someone else — a lawyer — and he thought they deserved another chance, but she couldn’t forget even if she could forgive. She encouraged Daniel to move on without her, and she wanted to separate permanently.
Daniel refused to believe that Heather had really fallen in love because she and Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) were his only motivation for becoming a better man. Heather insisted she was. Daniel wondered if Lucy liked the man, but Heather pointed out his daughter was 13 and upset that she had another man in her life that wasn’t Daniel.
Heather surprised Daniel when she revealed that Lucy was there. She showed up at his room, and they greeted each other tentatively. Daniel tearfully apologized to his daughter for all the pain he’d caused her, and he promised he’d changed. Heather also tearfully listened as Lucy and Daniel talked through things.
Daniel let his daughter know that starting to play their favorite video game again gave him the idea for his new project. He credited the whole thing with helping him turn things around. Daniel showed Lucy his preliminary sketches of Finding Princess Louisa, and Lucy loved that Louisa looked just like her. Daniel admitted the character was his daughter, and he called Lucy his princess.
Heather said they needed to go back to their suite, and she noted they were staying long enough to see her dad and Christine. They agreed to meet Daniel for breakfast.
