The Young and the Restless recaps for July 25 – July 29, 2022, feature death but not a whole lot of despair. This is what happens when the decedent is a lying liar who lies.
The Young and the Restless Recaps: Monday, July 25
Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) lets himself inside Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) abode and attempts to referee her scrimmage with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). Things situation quickly escalates and turns physical. Nicholas punches Ashland who strikes his head on the hearth. Neither Nicholas nor Victoria finds a pulse. At Nicholas’ urging, Victoria phones Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). The siblings momentarily take their leave of the crime scene; upon returning, Ashland is nowhere to be found.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) hit upon the perfect stratagem to disgrace Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) in the eyes of her sympathizers: sabotage her efforts at Marchetti. Nikki suggests Phyllis would make the perfect Trojan Horse; Phyllis concurs… Diane makes a point of soliciting Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) advice on her new position at Marchetti. When she expresses a hope that she and Jack will one day be friends, he cautions her against it.
Young and Restless Recaps: Tuesday, July 26
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) overhears Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) explaining to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) that he dumped her so that she’d thrive at Newman Media. She confronts him, but Adam makes the claim that he was merely saving face with someone who believes in him. Sally pulls him into a kiss and begs him to be honest with her, but Adam takes his leave. Sharon encourages Sally to prove to Adam how much he means to her.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) appears at Victoria’s as she and Nicholas try and comprehend what’s happened to Ashland. Chance arrives, and the duo recount to moments leading up to Ashland’s apparent death and sudden disappearance. Chance, Victoria, and Nicholas all suspect Victor has some hand in the events.
Noah Newman (Rory Gibson), Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) double date. Noah relays his desire to turn Top of the Tower into a nightclub. Summer suggests that he consider The Grand Phoenix as an alternative location.
Y&R Recaps: Wednesday, July 27
Nicholas and Victoria ponder recent events; she agrees to spend the night at the family homestead. Nicholas stumbles upon Ashland’s signet ring. Victoria swears that she saw Ashland pocket the bauble; Nicholas hands the item over to Chance.
Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) shadows Chance and eavesdrops on the case’s progress. Later, he reports to Victor that Ashland’s car, and his corpse, have been located by the authorities – just as Victor planned.
Sally makes one last-ditch effort to get Adam to fess up to his machinations but is unsuccessful; she reveals that she plans to resign as CEO of Newman Media. Adam books a flight to Las Vegas.
The Young and the Restless Recaps: Thursday, July 28
Phyllis asks Summer if the job offer extended to her is still open. Summer rumbles that her mother has an ulterior motive for coming aboard Marchetti; Phyllis poo-poos the notion… Nicholas and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) both implore Sally not to resign her position; she sees the sense in their arguments… Nicholas suspects that Ashland was dead before his car was driven off the road.
Y&R Recaps: Friday, July 29
Kyle sits Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) down and gently breaks the news about Ashland’s death. Diane interrupts the proceedings, and Kyle winds up telling his son that “Didi” is actually his grandmother… Adam hears of Ashland’s death and cancels his plan to fly to Vegas… Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) prepares to undergo surgery.
