The Young and the Restless recaps for June 13 – June 17, 2022, feature a night of revelry and a day of reflection on the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The Young and the Restless was preempted.
Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) is back in Genoa City, just in time for the Chancellor-Winters launch party… A reporter’s question regarding Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) pivot from the medical field to the corporate world stirs up memories of his affair with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and the tussle with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that forever damaged his operating hand… Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is likewise plagued with remembrances of his bust-up with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) arrive at the gala and congratulate their new rivals. Victor summons Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) with the intention of naming him Newman Enterprises CEO… Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) bows out of the festivities in order to close one of Rey Rosales’s (Jodi Vilasuso) cases.
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) entered the proceedings which rankled several guests – Nikki and Abby Carlton Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) chief among them. Jill takes notice of Diane… Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) encourages Nate to follow his instincts concerning whether or not to stick to his preapproved talking points.
Nate does indeed go “off script” when addressing the gathered crowd…but his action goes down as a threat; Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) even agree that Nate had been right all along in his push to be more transparent; Devon not so silently steams… Victor updates Adam on his promotion; Adam ensures that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will take over the reins of Newman Media.
Billy tactfully requests Diane vacate the premises and she aggresses to do so. Unaware of this development, Nikki goes on the offensive. Diane heads for Society where she’s soon joined by Jack. Diane appears to make inroads.
Imani makes Jill’s acquaintance, ostensible in an effort to network, but she spends their time together singing Nate’s praises; Jill recognizes a fellow barracuda. Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) once again warns Imani to steer clear of Nate; Imani demands that her sister mind her own business.
Adam and Sally survey their new kingdom, dispense with Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) portrait, and “christen” Adam’s worktop… Jill makes it clear that she has Diane’s number.
Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) suggested that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) resign as Jabot’s co-CEO and accept the CEOship of Marchetti… Victoria and Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) settle into a hotel room in New York; talk turns to business, and Victoria declared a moratorium on the Newman family name and pitches bringing art to the digital world.
Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) lay themselves bare to Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) who asks for the low down on her aunts’ highs, lows, and everything in between…though they do avoid discussing Dina (Marla Adams); that subject they save for a private confab with Jack.
