The Young and the Restless recaps for September 12 – September 16, 2022, feature some potential HR problems, surprising relationships, and so much more.
The Young and the Restless Recaps: Monday, September 12
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) put Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) on notice for missing an important meeting due to spending time with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Certainly, everybody makes mistakes now and then, but Sally can’t afford to continue down that road. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) didn’t even want to give Sally another chance, but Nick went to bat for her in a big way.
For her part, Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) absolutely agreed. Chloe read her the boss the riot act after having to fill in for her at the marketing summit. Sally did her best to apologize, but nothing really satisfied her furious COO.

On Tuesday, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) shared a table and had a contentious discussion at Society. The subject? One Adam Newman, of course. Victor warned Jack he’d made a grave mistake in hiring his son, and Jack told Victor all the reasons why Adam was perfect for the job.
Meanwhile, at the Abbott mansion, Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) finally had a blessed moment alone. However, their adult time quickly came to an end when Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) stormed in with an accusation that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) planted something incriminating in her computer. While Kyle seemed to find his mother’s story plausible, Summer found it too clumsy.

After Sally apologized…again…for missing the meeting, what should’ve been a simple parting handshake with Nick somehow turned into sex on the office couch. Yep! Sally and Nick hit the sheets as Adam knocked on the door looking for Sally…oopsie, or maybe not?
After all that intense…work…the duo wanted some grub, so they hit Society, and who was there? Adam. The younger Newman insisted on joining his brother and his ex for dinner, and things go awkward in a hurry.
Over at Chancellor-Winters, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) had it out with each other, and tensions boiled over. Ultimately, Nate quit, which didn’t make Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) too happy, but Devon was fine with it.
The Young and the Restless Recaps: Thursday, September 15
Adam showed up at Sally’s suite at The Grand Phoenix. She didn’t want to let him in, but he insisted. Adam laid it all on the line for Sally, professing his love for her, but she didn’t do what he wanted. Ultimately, she had him leave, and she cried over the way things happened.
Back at the Abbott’s, Diane surprised Jack when she tried to leave after falling asleep reading bedtime stories to Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). They had tea together and visited. They seemed to grow closer, and when she tried to leave, Jack offered Diane a guest room, but she declined.
Y&R Recaps: Friday, September 16
Victoria wasn’t too pleased when she learned Nick gave Sally a second chance, but she let her brother be in charge of the issue. Sally stopped by Victoria’s office to apologize and promise it’d never happen again, and then she and Nick went for coffee. Sally explained that Adam had stopped by and professed his love for her, and Nick said not to let him cloud her decision-making. Somehow, though, one thing led to another, and Sally and Nick ended up in Sally’s suite for round two. Just as they were headed out to finish their workday, Adam knocked on the door and saw his brother there with Sally…oops.
