The Young and the Restless recaps for August 29 – September 2, 2022, feature hot takes, hit pieces, hirings, happiness snatched, and so much more.
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) warned Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was out to revenge himself against the entire clan… Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) cautioned Adam against waging yet another war against Victor Newman (Eric Braeden); her words seem to strike a real chord. The ex’s interaction is spied on by Sally.
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) took an opportunity to needle Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). When Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) chanced upon the women, he immediately leapt to Diane’s defense… Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) plied Talia Morgan (Special Guest Star Natalie Morales) with intel on Diane.
Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) and Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) celebrate the former successfully pitching his ’70s themed nightclub to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil); they make love for the first time.
Nick and Victor are taken aback when Adam calls a détente. Adam leaves Nick with food for thought: did Victor covering up the respective crimes they committed help or hinder them?
Chelsea blasts Sally and denigrates the relationship that she (Sally) and Adam had. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) offers Sally an ear to bend… Dominic Chancellor’s loved ones gather to celebrate his first birthday. Tensions arise between Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway)… Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) decide to forge ahead with their plan to adopt.
Chance closes Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) final case; he shares the news with Chelsea and Sharon. Nick advises Chance to speak openly with Abby; Chance does exactly that… Chelsea wallows in her loneliness… Adam finally accepts Jack’s offer to join him as co-CEO of Jabot; Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is flummoxed by the decision.
Allie attempts to sneak Noah out, but they are caught out by Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland); she is hardly scandalized and instead advocates for Allie to get out of her head and live in the moment with her beau.
Phyllis makes a point of returning the investment Nick made in her and The Grand Phoenix; the air between the two is thick with nostalgia and lingering tensions… Sally goes to Nick for a much-needed ego boost… Nikki and Phyllis momentarily suspect that Diane has rumbled their subterfuge, but despite making contact with Talia, Diane is none the wiser… Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) ordered Adam to do lovestruck Sally the kindness of being cruel to her.
Mariah and Tessa are rejected by their adoption attorney; Sharon bolsters their spirits… Adam gives Sally a sincere apology and inquires as to whether there’s still a chance for their relationship… Victor advises Nick to fire Sally.
Nikki and Phyllis delight over the publication of Talia’s Diane centric exposé… Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is put out to learn that Adam will succeed him as co-CEO of Jabot. Jack is thrilled when Kyle requests the Abbott manse for a vow renewal ceremony.
