The Young and the Restless recaps for June 20 – June 24, 2022, feature a rousing (not really) game of musical CEO chairs.

The Young and the Restless Recaps: Monday, June 20

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) tasks Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) with doing a deep dive into Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) not-too-distant past. She’s put out to hear that Michael is taking Diane and her claim of rehabilitation at face value… Diane asks Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to help her land a job, preferably something in PR.

Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier), Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) convene to discuss Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and debate whether or not she and Diane could ever peacefully coexist. Lauren cautioned Summer that there may come a time when she’s forced to choose between her mother and her husband.

Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) exacerbates tensions between Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James)… Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) try and fail to get to the root cause of the latter’s malaise.

Young and Restless Recaps: Tuesday, June 21

A (poorly) disguised Phyllis slinks back into town; she overhears Diane disparaging her during a confab with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman)… Gloria Fisher Bardwell (Judith Chapman) refereed Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson)… After a push from Summer, Kyle agreed to accept the CEOship of Marchetti. The couple pitch making Fenmore’s the exclusive US distributor of Marchetti merch; Lauren is intrigued.

Y&R Recaps: Wednesday, June 22

When Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) comes a calling, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) lays his cards on the table. He knows that he’s being used as a pawn, but he intends to so impress Victor that he’ll remain ensconced at Newman Enterprises even if Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) does indeed return to the fold. Victor is suitably amused… Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) takes to the top spot at Newman Media with relative ease.

Victor demands that Michael track Victoria and Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) down… Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) grows concerned for Billy’s wellbeing… Chelsea and Billy catch up. He’s surprised to learn how affected Chelsea is by Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) death.

The Young and the Restless Recaps: Thursday, June 23

Phyllis eavesdrops on conversations between Diane and Michael. Michael catches Phyllis and makes a plea for a cease-fire. Afterward, Phyllis summons Summer to The Grand Phoenix and makes a point of claiming that she’s amenable to hitting the reset button with Diane. Summer calls Phyllis’s bluff and asks her to go and offer Diane the olive branch posthaste.

Kyle informs Jack that he’ll be stepping down as co-CEO of Jabot in order to head Marchetti. Despite being momentarily thrown, by the announcement, Jack gives Kyle his full support. Kyle shares the good news with Diane.

Imani tells Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) that their mother has suffered a stroke… Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) tries to interest Nate in joining her at a medical conference in Hawaii; he turns her down. Nate is incensed when Elena mentions that she discussed the matter with Devon.

Y&R Recaps: Friday, June 24

Phyllis (reluctantly) calls a truce with Diane. Diane lets Kyle and Jack in on the development… Phyllis reaches out to Jack. Diane calls Phyllis’s motives into question… Kyle broaches the idea of hiring Diane at Marchetti; Summer is far from thrilled.

Victoria and Ashland watch a press conference in which Adam and Sally’s new positions are announced. Their interests turn to a discussion about their new media company. Victoria suggests they invest their own money in the venture; Ashland hedges.
