The Young and the Restless recap (YR) for Wednesday, July 18 features the rise of a backstabber and the horrifying consequences of one bad decision.
Sweet and Sappy
Hilary (Mishael Morgan) had what could have been a hormonal day as she offered her blessing and more than a few kind words to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks).
She saw that her co-star had a chance at happiness and sincerely wished it would work. Hilary has seen this romance blossoming for some time and all she wants is for Mariah to experience true love.
While Mariah was taken aback she appreciated Hilary offering her approval. She and Tessa have a long uphill battle ahead of them.
Lies and Puppy Love
The ladies weren’t the only ones turning up the heat. Shauna (Camryn Hamm) wasn’t alone in the condo for more than a few seconds before texting Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and inviting him over.
She was ready to take things to the next level and, of course, so is Charlie.
Lily (Christel Khalil) wasn’t born yesterday and when she realized Charlie wasn’t at work she quickly caught on to what was happening.
She chased her son down, finding him alone with Shauna at the penthouse. Fireworks ensued and became much worse when Hilary walked through the door.
A Traumatic End

The argument was so vicious it caused Shauna to run away. Charlie, Hilary, and Lily hopped into the car and began searching for Shauna. However, the bitter rivalry sparked an all-out screaming match and Lily stopped paying attention to the road.
The heated argument came to an abrupt end when a truck crashed into the passenger side of the car and right into Hilary!
Hilary’s life is on the line along with her baby, and by the looks of the accident, it’ll take a miracle to save them.
A Dark Knight
It was also a dramatic day for the Newman family as Nick presented the final phase of his plan to take his father down.
In a shocking twist, Nick connected with some new investors who helped him take over nearly every account the family business lost. His goal is to start a new family legacy and build a brand new empire – Dark Horse.
Unfortunately, his plan didn’t go over too well with his family. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) flipped her lid, Vicky (Amelia Heinle) considered cutting off all contact, and neither Abby (Melissa Ordway) nor Summer (Hunter King) wanted to hear his shady pitch.
This could be the start of a bigger war that could divide the Newmans for years to come!
