The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, February 27, sees Sharon and Phyllis solve a riddle, which leads them to mislead their families. Nick smells a rat while Adam and Chelsea move one step closer to reuniting.

What Happened on The Young and the Restless?

At the new ranch, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) made out. Adam admitted he hadn’t expected it and asked if she regretted it. Chelsea pulled away and apologized for sending mixed signals. Adam suggested they simply agree it had been a lovely evening.

Chelsea said she felt drawn to him but didn’t want to repeat her mistakes. Adam reassured her he wouldn’t rush things and that their relationship could be whatever they wanted. She appreciated the effort he had put into making her comfortable. She agreed to move at her own pace. They toasted to becoming their best selves.

Adam said they were handling things maturely, which felt like a solid foundation. Chelsea was willing to try. After cleaning up, she accepted a glass of scotch, and they discussed her wing of the house. She was fine with the decor, but she needed to know if Adam was truly over Sally (Courtney Hope).

Adam assured her he didn’t even feel a trace of lingering feelings. Chelsea insisted she couldn’t open her heart to him until she knew how he felt about Sally. Adam admitted he had regrets but no longing. They both acknowledged their roles in ruining past relationships. Chelsea noted that their time in Baltimore might not have been as innocent as they claimed. Adam admitted he had thought about that night often and that Sally had seen the truth before he had.

Though he regretted hurting their exes, Adam didn’t regret where they were now. He insisted he hadn’t been trying to win Chelsea over—just to help her relax and create a happy memory. Chelsea told him he reminded her of the man she had fallen in love with years ago, and they kissed. As things heated up, she decided to call it a night. Adam respected her decision. Smiling, he handed her a rose before she left. In her room, Chelsea removed her earrings and smelled the rose.

Security

Meanwhile, Nick (Joshua Morrow) showed up at the new ranch. He told his parents that Sharon (Sharon Case) had gone missing again. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) was shocked and questioned how that was possible. Nick added that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was missing, too. Nikki assumed Phyllis was responsible. Nick explained they had no information besides that both women had disappeared, and Chance (Conner Floyd) was investigating unofficially. Nikki hoped it was just a coincidence.

Nick asked for additional security at the ranch, and Victor (Eric Braeden) assured him they would get to the bottom of it. Nikki remained convinced the women would turn up soon.

Solving Riddles

Phyllis and Sharon found themselves trapped. Phyllis yelled at the intercom for answers while Sharon insisted they needed to work together to escape. Jazz music played through the speakers, prompting them to try and identify the song. Frustrated, Sharon declared she had had enough, but Phyllis reminded her they had no choice.

The voice over the intercom instructed them to approach a safe. Inside, Phyllis found a birthday card containing a riddle: “I’m 18 away from Independence Day.” Sharon counted and determined the answer was July 22nd. When she spoke the date, the music resumed, and Phyllis used it to unlock the safe, revealing locked phones.

The voice allowed them to call one loved one to reassure them they were fine, warning that breaking the rules would result in penalties. Sharon called Nick, claiming she was in Sedona, while Phyllis told Summer (Allison Lanier) she was following business leads. Both women successfully misled their loved ones.

At the ranch, Nick shared his concerns with his parents. Though Nikki dismissed them, she found it odd that both women had checked in simultaneously. Victor reassured them that everyone was safe and told them not to worry.
