The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, December 26, 2023, focuses on the much-anticipated showdown between Nikki and Jordan.
Young and the Restless Highlights
Also in this episode, Victor, Nick, Victoria, and Cole try to track down Nikki while Claire makes a dramatic and life-changing choice.
Mobilizing for Nikki
At the Newman Ranch, the family tried to figure out where Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) was. Victor (Eric Braeden) informed Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) that there may be more than one reason why Nikki’s missing right now. According to Nate (Sean Dominic), Nikki may be drinking again.
Initially, Nick and Victoria denied the fact that their mom was drinking again. Nick felt that Nikki’s disappearance was related to Jordan (Colleen Zenk). Regardless, they all feared for Nikki whether she was with Jordan or whether she was out driving drunk.
Thankfully, Victoria found Nikki’s purse she was using earlier. The one that had her flask and a mysterious address that Cole (J. Eddie Peck) actually recognized. Now that they had a lead, Cole and Victoria (find out our thoughts on a potential Cole/Victoria reunion) decided to stay behind while Victor and Nick headed out to the cabin.
Cabin in the Woods
Nikki easily found the cabin where Jordan instantly held a gun on her. After numerous insults and taunts, Nikki insisted on wanting to know where Claire (Hayley Erin) was. Jordan simply couldn’t understand why Nikki would come out all this way alone to save someone who basically lied to and poisoned her family. Subsequently, Nikki explained she did this for Victoria.
Later, Nikki implored Jordan to let Claire go. After all, she’s gotten enough revenge. She’s caused drama and turned Nikki into a “pathetic drunk.” The two talked about Eve (Margaret Mason) and the concept of sisters, as well as the past. Nikki explained Jordan can’t bring Eve back. In fact, she never even mentioned she had a sister.
Unfortunately, Nikki just incited Jordan’s wrath even more. All Claire’s aunt wanted to do was watch Nikki die and then sit back and witness Victor, Victoria, “and that idiot son of yours,” grieve. Seemingly, that’s her best revenge.
Claire’s Choice
While Victor and Nick drove to the cabin and Cole and Victoria worried at home, Jordan offered up Claire’s life for Nikki’s. Then, she offered Nikki a bottle of vodka and assured her it wasn’t laced with poison or drugs.

After partaking, Nikki wanted to know two things: where Claire was and if she was in on Jordan’s plan. As Nikki contemplated taking another drink, Jordan rolled an unconscious Claire in, propped up in a wheelchair.
Once Nikki finished the vodka, she hit Jordan over the head with the empty bottle. Unfortunately, Jordan didn’t stay down for long. As the two fought, Claire pointed a gun at Jordan and told her to let Nikki go. Jordan demanded her niece put the gun down. She tried to get Claire to turn on the Newmans. She said they’d run away and get out of there…together.
Claire continued to point the gun at Jordan, now understanding that Jordan wasn’t a good force in her life. Without her, she would have had a family and had a life full of love and friends. While Claire didn’t want Jordan to live, Nikki wanted her to go to prison. Ultimately, Nikki knocked Jordan out and asked Claire to give her the gun. Nikki hugged a broken Claire.
A little later, when Victor and Nick arrived, Nikki told them Claire saved her. Nikki said she’d go with them and told Claire the Newmans would never let Jordan near her again. Claire apologized for everything.
